[32495] "Lancaster Intelligencer, 26 August 1905," p. 4: "Jeremiah Roth died at an early hour on Thursday morning at his home, in Ephrata borough, from apoplexy, with which he was stricken a week ago. He was 75 years old and a native of Rothsville. He was engaged in the mercantile business at Akron and Millway for many years. He disposed of his Millway business over thirty years and for twenty-five years he was employed as a salesman in Ephrata stores. Five years ago he retired on account of ill health. He was a member of Cocalico lodge, No. 400, Knights of Pythias. His surviving children are: D. F. and Horace Roth, Shelly, Ohio; Calvin M., Chicago; Mrs. Lillie Bushong, city; Mrs. Clayton B. Burkholder, Salina, Kansas; Miss Anna, at home. His funeral will take place this afternoon, with services in the Lutheran church."
