Roy Bemis of Eucalyptus avenue, Rialto, are issuing announcements this week of the marriage of their oldest daughter, Miss Irene Lucile Bemis, to Foster E. Willhide, son of Mr. and Mrs. Foster C. Willhide of 691 Eighth street. The Rev. R. L. Summers, pastor of the Methodist church at Yuma, Arizona, read the marriage service for Miss Bemis and Mr. Willhide in the parsonage of the church June 7. The young couple kept the news of the marriage secret until Saturday, when it was revealed to their parents. For the informal ceremony Miss Bemis, a charming brunette, wore a smart navy blue and beige suit with halo hat, sandals, and other accessories in navy. The couple was not attended. Two well known families are united bv the marriage. Miss Bemis is a member of the prominent Bemis family whose forefathers were early settlers in San Bernardino valley and she is a native of Rialto. Mr. Willhide, also a native of California, has resided in San Bernardino most of his life and his parents are identified with musical groups of this city. Both Miss Bemis and Mr. Will hide are graduates of San Bernardino high school, she in 1936 and he in 1935. They later attended the Junior college, where the romance had its inception. The bridal couple are now at home to their friends at 864 1/2 Olive street. Mr. Willhide is employed as a salesman with Stockwell and Binney and is also continuing in his work as violin instructor."

E. Williams. The victim's Killed in county husband, traffic wrecks Willhide, Foster 30, is in a serious condition at the county hospital from injuries suffered in the accident. Coroner Williams set an inquest for 2 p.m. Thursday, after San Bernardino police reported that Mr. and Mrs. Willhide's car was struck broadside at the intersection by an automobile driven by 16-year-old Lawrence E. Davey of Corona. City Traffic Officers Herman Aarup and John II. Bromilow told the coroner their investigation showed that young Davey ran the boulevard stop on G street at a high rate of speed and crashed into the car driven by Mr. Willhide. The latter was westbound on Fifth street, while the Corona youth was traveling south on G, in the report. Witnesses to the collision were Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Taylor of Colton. Surviving besides her husband are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L, Roy Bemis, and two sisters, Nora and Martha Lee Bemis, all of Rialto. She was a native of Rialto. The body was removed to the Ingold Funeral home where the inquest will be held, and funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Rialto Methodist church, of which she was a member, and burial will follow in Rialto Park cemetery. - July 10, 1946
