He was born April 19, 1927 at Dexter, the son of Hugh and Amber (Seavey) Hutchins. A dairy farmer in Ripley for many years, he had a love for the land and animals, particularly draft breed horse.s He was a member of Ripley Grange No. 462 for over 25 years as well as East Somerset Pomona and the Maine State Grange. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Tewksbury) Hutchins of Ripley; his mother, Amber Hutchins of Dexter; two sons, Danny Hutchins and his wife Ginger of Guilford, Harry Hutchins and his wife Karen of St Alban;s four daughters, Charlotte Hutchins and her fiance Bruce Brown of Vassalboro, Diana Drillen of East Eddington, Judy McPheters and her husband Dennis of Plymouth, Linda Macomber and her husband William of Dover-Foxcroft; two stepsons, G. Thomas Nutter and his wife Kathy of Ripley, David A. Nutter and his wife Deborah of Benton; one sister, Marilyn Brooks and her husband Herbert of Dexter; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Margaret Nutter, and a stepson, Henry Nutter."
