She was born May 17, 1923, in Breezewood, Bedford County, and was a daughter of the late David C. and Carrie F. Sipes Brantner. She was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg, a past Sunday school teacher, a member of their Women's Missionary Society, the Homecoming Committee and the Willing Worker's Sunday school class. She was a 1941 graduate of the former Fannett Township High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin I. Alleman, who died Dec. 11, 2005. Surviving are three sons, Richard D. (his wife, Patricia) Alleman and Galen M. (his wife, Denise) Alleman, both of Newburg, and Randall E. (his wife, Beth) Alleman of Shippensburg; a daughter, Carol M. (Mrs. Wayne) Forrester of Chambersburg, seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister."
