Find A Grave memorrial 102399364 offers: "Thomas married 26 December 1667 at Salisbury, Massachusetts to Martha Barnard, a daughter of Thomas Barnard. As was required of all male inhabitants over the age of 16 years, Thomas made his Oath of Allegiance, on 20 December 1677 as a resident of Amesbury. Thomas Haynes received land in Amesbury, Massachusetts 1661, 1666 and 1675. He was a petition signer in October 1671 as a resident of Amesbury, served in the training band in 1680. Thomas Haynes died about the year 1683. An inventory of his estate was made 25 September 1683. Ref: Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury (Hoyt). Whitmore, in his book Genealogical Guide to Early Settlers of America, expressed the possibility that Thomas Haynes was in Maine, 1658-1665, but that statement is doubtful, and it also seems doubtful Thomas was born 1645 as claimed on several internet websites. Thomas Haynes of Amesbury is not shown as being the same Thomas Haynes, an early inhabitant of Maquoit (Casco Bay) Maine in 1641, who was driven off by the Indians and was at Lynn, Massachusetts with his wife, Joyce in the year 1678. Since both are known to have married women with different names and were living simultaneously in different localities of Massachusetts, it is doubtful they were the same person."
Children of Thomas Haynes and Martha (Barnard) Haynes were five:
Thomas, Eleanor, Aquila, John and Mary.
[55778] Abraham served as a Capt in the Continental Line during the War for Independence. He gave the land for the cemetery in which he is buried. The unverified file LCXC-9B2 in familysearch.org offers: "When Captain Abraham Shaw was born on 17 December 1744, in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States, his father, Abraham Shaw, was 24 and his mother, Joanna Hunt, was 22. He married Priscilla Beal on 16 April 1765, in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. He registered for military service in 1775. He died on 5 May 1813, in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Rockland, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States."
