William of Tyre (Continuator) specifies that the wife of Pierre de Courtenay gave birth to a son soon after arriving in Constantinople. The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines names 'iuvenis Balduinus qui modo est imperator' as youngest of the four son of 'comitis Petris'. He succeeded his brother in 1251 as Guy joint Count of Flanders. He bought the rights to Namur 20 Mar 1263 from Baudouin II titular Emperor of Constantinople. He is survived by his wife Beaulah (Mack) Goodwin of Mariaville; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hamel of Mariaville, Mrs. Donna Marie Holland of Brewer, Mrs. Shirley Robinson of Newburgh,; one brother, Raymond Goodwin of San Carlos, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Forst and Hazel Goodwin, both of Bangor; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home Ellsworth with the Rev. Reginald Couture officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth."
