(Karen) Leavelle of Cleveland; one brother, Glenn Gallaway of Elkhart, Indiana; and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her first husband, Mrs. Leavelle was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Vaughn and Frances peters; and one brother, James Gallaway. She was a graduate of Piqua High School and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy. She was past Secretary of the Troy Figure Skating Club; Legal Secretary to Howard Swinehart from 1955-1966; Genealogist Volunteer at the Hayner Cultural Center for the Historical Society; and Founding Mother of the WACO Historical Society."

Honey, in "The Leaches of Penobscot - Parts II through VI" (Ellsworth, ME: 1996), pp. 11-12: "The William Leach family suffered through all of the tragedies that the 19th century could produce. Two sons were claimed by the sea, swallowed up without a trace, and another son was claimed by the horrors of the Civil War. A fourth son followed the sea and died at the age of 31. Their only dau. also died at an early age, within a few days of her brother, perhaps by the scourge of consumption. She appears not to have married. Capt. Silas Leach was the only child to survive this murderous gauntlet and he succumbed to heart disease at 57 years. Wm. and Bestey outlived five of their six children. Their lives were full of shattered dreams and the eternal longing to hear foot steps that never came. We can only look back and ponder the faith or stoicism that sustained them."

[52681] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 25 September 2008: "Brooksville - William F. Tapley, 80, died Dec. 11, 2004, at the Blue Hill Hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Bucksport, the son of William R. and Velma (Hawes) Tapley. Bill had a love for horses. He operated the Wild Wood Stables in Acadia for 20 years and gave carriage rides. He is survived by three brothers, Paul and his wife, Gloria, of Brooksville, John and his wife, Elaine, of Sedgwick, Robert and his wife, Marilyn, of Penobscot; one sister, Ethel Tandy and her husband, Jack, of Brooklin; many nieces and nephews."
[60243] Henry was captain of the schooner M.V.B. Chase when she foudered near Sandy Hook and he and a mate were drowned. He is son of Isaac Tuttle (1818-1888) & Mary Wilson (1827-1917).
