Washington St., died Sunday evening, April 24, 1988, in the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va. Born Feb. 6, 1919, in Billings, Mont., he was the son of the late Maurice and Alma Clugston Widney. He was a member of State Line United Methodist Church, State Line; Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 Veterans of Foreign Wars; Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St. Thomas; and the National division of the American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Widney was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the retired owner of Johnnie's Restaurant, Chambersburg. Surviving are his wife, Daisy E. Blair Widney; a daughter, Debra Benchoff of Waynesboro; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Mellott of Chambersburg; two stepsons, Joe Finafrock of Fresno, Calif., and Ronald Finafrock, Greencastle; two sisters, Hazel Monninger of Chambersburg and Gladys Henderson of Malibu Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrand-children; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. The Rev. Edward Cope will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg."
