[8241] "Daily Record [Morristown, New Jersey], 19 August 1997," p. 1: "Denville Twp. - Saturday's violent thunderstorm claimed a second victim yesterday, a 53-year-old township attorney who died of a heart attack related to injuries suffered during the storm. Ronald F. Pitman, a former school board president, passionate volunteer and avid golfer, died around 3 a.m. at Morristown Memorial Hospital, two days after he was injured outside his Smith Road home, police said. He is survived by his wife Sally, and two daughters, Gayle and Susannah. Pitman was in his driveway getting his mail around 5 p.m. when a branch about four feet in diameter fell on him, knocking him to the ground, Lt. Richard McConnell said. Doctors at Morristown Memorial operated shortly afterward, but the injuries apparently led to the heart attack 34 hours later, McConnell said. Ewald Westra, 64, of Green Township in Sussex County, died instantly Saturday afternoon when a tree fell on him outside his home, police said. 'Nobody can believe it,' Vito Bianco, Denville 's council president, said of Pitman's death. 'If you needed to raise money for something, he was always there. He was always an active, good neighbor in the community.' Pitman had practiced with the township firm of Pitman, Senesky, Selitto & Oliver for about 25 years, his partner, Paul Selitto said. Pitman specialized in land-use law and represented boards of adjustment and other municipal boards in Byram, Dover, Morris Township, Randolph and Stanhope, Selitto said, adding that he was school board president from 1974 to 1985. . . ."

[55594] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 16 January 2024: "Franklin - Ellen Joyce Wentworth, 64, passed away on Jan. 6, 2024, at her home in Franklin after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 29, 1959, in Bar Harbor, to parents Allan Wentworth Sr. and Loretta Bragdon Wentworth. Ellen grew up in Bar Harbor and moved to Franklin with her mother when she was 12. She spent many years working in Bar Harbor in the tourist industry until she broke her ankle and retired. Ellen was predeceased by her parents and lifelong partner of over 40 years, Charlie Murphy. Ellen is survived by her son, Christopher Wentworth, of Orland. Christopher cared for his mother during her final weeks to grant her wish of passing in her home, where she shared her life with loved ones. She is also survived by her five siblings; Sharon Lietz of Ft. Myers, Fla., Rosemary Hokenson of Las Vegas, Nev., Linda Gardner of Kershaw, S.C., Loretta Kundert of McEwin, Tenn., and Allan Wentworth Jr. of Bar Harbor; and two granddaughters, Kaitlynn Bridges of Franklin, and Nora Wentworth of Orland. Her ashes will be spread in the spring in the presence of family."
