She was born on May 12, 1927, in Sullivan, the daughter of the late Pearl Martin and Martha 'Mattie' (Tracey) Martin. Jeannette loved everyone and those that knew her referred to her as 'Ma'. She had a huge heart, which shouldn't surprise you that she spent most of her life as a caregiver. She worked as a C.N.A. and volunteered for hospice. Jeannette was a dedicated member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Schoodic Grange, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ellsworth. Recently, Jeannette was baptized into Mormon faith. She enjoyed quilting and assisting with the church guild. Traveling, birdwatching, and family were a few of her favorite things. She is survived by her sons, Scott Griffin and wife, Linda of Franklin, David Griffin of Hancock, Peter Griffin and partner, Sue of Franklin, Charles Griffin and partner, Sunshine of Cherryfield; daughters, Barbara Tibbetts of Columbia Falls, Lorna Thomas and husband, Gordon of Franklin, Kimberly Baldwin and husband, Gary of Franklin; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews; special friends, Ida, Marian, Burnie, and Karen. Jeannette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Griffin Jr.; son, Kelley Griffin; son-in-law, Donald Tibbetts; 3 grandsons and 1 great-grandson."

Richard's wife was Rose _____. Her maiden name or surname at their marriage may have been Stewart, as offered without citation by G. Robert Anderson via Internet. Richard embarked at Ipswich, England 10 April 1634 in the ship Elizabeth; he was then age 45, with wife Rose age 50, son George age 13 and son John age 13. He was admitted as a freeman 2 Sept 1635 and is on the earliest list of proprietors of Watertown, MA. See "History of Watertown, MA" by Henry Bond, MD (Vol. 1, 1860, pp. 657-58) for information on his holdings, estate, second marriage in 1663 to Ann (widow of Stephen Gates of Cambridge, MA; she b. 1603 and d. in Stow, MA 5 Feb 1683), etc. G. Robert Anderson posted via Internet 9 Oct. 1996 without proof that Richard was b. 20 Jan 1585/86 in Childwell Parish, Lancashire. Richard bought a windmill in Boston which he sold in 1638. NEGHR 6:214 states he is related to John Mather, grandfather of Richard Mather. Richard owned 300 acres at Watertown.
His second wife, Ann, came from Hingham, England with her first husband on the "Diligent" in 1634 with two sons. They r. Hingham, Cambridge and Lancaster, MA. See "Pioneers of Massachusetts - 1620-1650," Charles Henry Pope (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2013), p. 514. Ancestry.com offers: "Woodward Name Meaning - occupational name for a forester employed to look after the trees and game in a forest, Middle English woodward (from the Old English elements mentioned at 2). perhaps also from an Old English personal name Wuduweard, composed of the elements wudu wood + weard guardian, protector."
