[7154] George m. (1) Lucy J. Jones of Brooksvile, ME. His family in the 1860 federal census are in North Castine. George served in the 7th Regiment of Maine Infantry during the War Between the States. His family is in the 1880 census at Penobscot where he and his son (George P., age 28) are both listed as seamen; daughters Ada (21) and Minnie (15) are in the household, along with wife Mary and her nephew, Isaac Dunbar. He appears to be the G. W. Conner who is shown as owner of the land between Dunbar Road and the Bagaduce estuary, later part of the Fred M. Conner farm, on the map of Penobscot in the 1881 "Hancock County Atlas" (he is first cousin of Fred) - this land is now owned by Will K. Dick, who built a fine house overlooking the estuary on the property.
