Philip was a blacksmith. His smithy was detroyed by fire. His neighbors rallied to restore it. Here is the newspaper article (translated from German) about their decision to aid him:
"Der Lecha Caunty Patriot [Allentown, Pennsylvania], 24 Oct 1838", p. 3 (translated): "The following persons have been hereby certified as a committee which will draw up the end goals of the assembly: David Laurn, Daniel Saeger, Esq., Leonard Lorasch, George Miller, John Miller, James Neuhard, Mathias Miller and Jacob Lindeman, who, after they have investigated the circumstances of Mr. Breiner, report the following introduction and conclusion - Because Mr. Philip Breiner, registered to North Whitehall, had the misfortune of losing to fire his newly built [smithy?], along with all of its contents on the night of September 21 - whereby an industrious, honorable, and ever upstanding citizen and young entrepeneur, who made his way with hard manual labor, suddenly finds himself in need [lit.- denuded]- and because it's always the responsibility of the Christian to come to the aid of his brother and neighbor in their hour of misfortune, so we hereby recommend the support of a [sympathetic] public for Mr. Breiner. It has been further decided that we bless the decision to be helpful to Mr. Breiner and for everyone to do his part to ameloriate in some way the heavy loss, and ask also [that one] do the same for all goodhearted and well mannered people in need."
[58657] The unverified file KJ2M-L9P in familysearch.org offers: "William Campbell was born in 1830, in Stickney, Peel, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada. He married Sarah Brooker about 1871, in Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Peel, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada for about 10 years. He died in 1894, at the age of 64."
