He passed away on March 15, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, Maine, from complications of Influenza and Pneumonia, surrounded by his family. Victor led a fulfilling life dedicated to GOD, his family, his career, and his country. Victor married the love of his live, Sharron S. Hendon from Ontario, California, on March 23, 1959, in Jonesport, Maine, in the same house that he was born in and is still in the family. Next, week they would have been married for 65 years! Victor along with his wife, Sharron, have been in the wonderful care of the staff and professionals at the Maine Veterans Home in Machias, Maine, from September 2022 until his passing. In 1958, Victor began his service in the United States Air Force, where he served with honor, retiring in 1978, with the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt). Beyond his professional accomplishments, Victor had a passion for family history and could recount stories of numerous relatives and their relationships. His love for puzzles and brain games showcased his sharp mind and keen intellect. Victor had an unwavering faith in GOD. He believed in the atoning death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He received the promise of an eternal life with the Lord and is now experiencing it for himself. Victor was baptized in water and in the Spirit fulfilling the direction given in Gospel of St John 3:3-5 and the example of Jesus himself. He attended Cherryfield Pentecostal Church for many years and most recently, while in the Maine Veterans Home in Machias, Maine, he and Sharron were faithful members of Apostolic Grace Fellowship in Fremont, Nebraska. One of Victor's proudest achievements was his loving family. He cherished spending time with them and creating lifelong memories. Rest in peace, Victor, husband, Dad, Grampy, your memory will forever remain in our hearts."

This line is proposed in Ray Gurganus' unverified web site, www.gurganus.org, in 2007. Providing a copy of "Records of the Anglo-Norman House of Glanville
from A.D. 1050 to 1880," by Wm Urmston Searle Glanville-Richards (London: 1882), http://www.glanvillenet.info/roanhg4.htm offers: "Gilbert de Glanville, third Earl of Suffolk - Took part with the Barons under Simon de Montford, Earl of Leicester, against Henry III. De Montford had married the King's sister, and had succeeded in winning the good opinion of most of the people. In the year 1258, in consequence of Henry's extravagant waste of his revenues and of the public money granted for an expedition to recover Poitou and Guienne, the Barons of England came to the Council held at Westminster in complete armour, much to the surprise and alarm of the King. In the following year they met at Oxford, and appointed a committee to carry out reforms in the government; this assembly was called the "Mad Parliament." A civil war followed, in which Lord Gilbert de Glanville took part, and soon after, when Prince Edward, who had escaped out of the clutches of the Barons, and had raised a force and fought with and defeated them at Evesham, De Glanville was deprived of all his estates, and also lost his earldom. In the year 1266 he died, leaving issue - Ralph de Glanville, son and heir, Gilbert de Glanville, Bartholomew de Glanville, Nicholas de Glanville, and William de Glanville. Ralph de Glanville, the eldest son, was a benefactor to Leiston Abbey, founded by his great-grandfather, the Lord Chief Justice."
[47092] He is simply Smedley Elder on his son David's death cetificate. "Duncannon Record [Duncannon, PA], 6 April 1894," p. 2: "Smedley Elder died a heroic death at 9.20 o'clock last night. He had never done harm to anybody, even a worm, and the grim monster had no terrors for him. He was a Christian, also. He was in delicate health for some time. Rallying periodically, prostration would ensue. Last Saturday his physician frankly told him he could not get well. He replied: 'All is right; I am ready to go.' Yesterday he called his mother, wife and four children to his bedside, embraced them and said a tearless farewell. A neighbor and friend called to see him just as the evening of life was making room for the dawn of eternity. Smedley, so weak of body that he could hardly articulate, had strength enough to wave his hand and peace fully say: 'Over the river.' At one period of his life he was a follower of the romantic canal, the glory of which has forever departed, and among his dying expressions was a wish that he might hear the sound of a boat horn once more. Smedley was a son of the late James Elder and a decendent of one of the oldest families of Harrisburg. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock to-morrow (Friday) aftornoon, at the house, Rev. William Dorwart officiating. The deceased was a member in good standing of the Odd Fellows and Jun ior Mechanics' Order, at Duncannon and according to his patriotic desires will be buried by the latter's rites, under the auspices of Newport Council, No. 614. - Newport News. The above from the Newport News will be interesting to our readers who knew Mr. Elder during his lifetime. He was a man of more than ordinary attainments and always looked on the bright side of everything. The Jr. O. U. A. M. and I. O. O. F. sent delegations to his funeral, six members of the former organization acting as pall bearers in accordance with an oft-expressed desire of Mr. Elder. A Record scribe was in attendance at the funeral. Mr. Elder had been sick all winter and had become so weak and poor that he was but a shadow of his former self at the time of his death. His remains were encased in a beautiful casket upon which was spread a large silk flag. In accordance with a desire expressed shortly before his death a badge of Montebello Council, No. 704, Jr. O. U. A. M. was worn upon the lapel of his coat. After services at the house by Rev. Dorwart the funeral cortege moved to Newport cemetery where the last sad rites were performed over the body of the deceased by the two orders to which he belonged and Rev. Dorwart. The members of Newport Council, No. 614, Jr. O. U. A. M. turned out in a body at his funeral to the number of seventy-two."

[29953] The unverified Fortin Family Tree on Ancestry.com states john m. in 1569 at Wherstead to Prudence Birth (b. 1548 in Wherstead, d. 22 Dec 1606 in Belstead, Suffolk Co., England) - it is curious that each died 22 Dec three years apart.
