Rice, of near Loysville, is a graduate of the Landisburg High School, Shippensburg State Teachers College, and attended the Pennsylvania School of Industrial Arts, Philadelphia, and is a teacher in the public schools of Spring township." Raymond began his life-long career in banking as a clerk at the Landisburg Bank, and worked his way up to become President about 1969. He is the son of Charles Dunkle Egolf and Mary E. Memminger.

[17435] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 25 March 1915, p. 9: "Ellsworth, March 24 - Funeral services over the remains of the late Freeman G. Leach, prominent citizen and business man, were held at the Leach residence in Church street this Wednesday afternoon at 2 oclock. The services were conducted by Rev. P. A. A. Klllam of the First Baptist church. Tbe death of Mr. Leach occurred Sunday evening, following a lingering Illness of several months. For five years prior to his death he conducted successfully a grocery store in the Phillips' building, so-called, in Main Street near the Maine Central depot. Mr. Leach was 57 years of age and was born the town of Penobscot. His earler days were spent in his native town. He developed a liking for the sea and took up fishing on the Grand Banks. He waa a successful fisherman and passed through the differen stages of advancement until he became captain of one of the Grand Bankers. A little more than 20 years ago he came to Ellsworth to enter the employ of the B. E. Cole shoe company. Later he was with the Union Shoe Company, and when this Industry closed he became a traveling salesman, giving up this line of work to open a grocery store in this city. He was widely known in this city and by the commercial travelers. He is survived by a wife and a daughter, Mrs. Ralph E. Cunningham of this city."

"Centennial History of Summit County, Ohio and Representative Citizens (Chicago: Biographical Publishing Co., 1908), p. 585: " Harvey A. Myers, a well known farmer and stock dealer of Norton Township, was born on the excellent farm of eighty acres on which he now resides, Dec. 29, 1853, son of Alpheus and Salome (Myers) Myers.
Alpheus Myers was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, July 10, 1818, and in boyhood accompanied his father, Henry Myers, to a farm near Wooster, Ohio. Later, Henry Myers, with all his family except Alpheus, removed to Indiana, where he died. Alpheus Myers came to Summit County April, 1846, where he purchased the 80-acre farm now owned and operated by his son, Harvey. He later bought the Sherman farm of 140 acres, and during the Civil War he further increased the extent of his property by purchasing a farm of 100 acres situated across the road from where he lived and which was called the Mosier farm. In addition to these farms he owned one of 140 acres in Missouri. He also drilled and found coal and opened the mine, known as the Myers mine in Wadsworth Township, Medina County. He was a man of excellent business qualifications, and during the Civil war made a large amount of money in buying and shipping horses for the government. He was a highly respected citizen of Norton Township and died Mar. 1, 1878. His death was the result of an accident. He was about to make a business trip to the west and also visit his aged mother. While waiting at the Wadsworth station, engaged in conversation with a friend, he accidentally stepped in front of a moving train and was instantly killed.
Alpheus Myers married Salome Myers, who survived him many years, dying in October, 1900. They had six children, the youngest of whom, Owen, died Oct. 7, 1905. The others were as follows: William H., residing in Akron; Mary, wife of Isaac Tinsman, and a resident of Akron; Lavina, who married Solomon Kraver, and resides in Medina County; Josepha, residing in Medina County, who married (first) Septimus Siberling, and moved to Iowa, where he died, and (second) Jacob Slamker who she survives; and Harvey A., of Norton Township.
Harvey A. Myers was reared in his native place and has always resided on his fine, old farm, where he successfully carries on general farming and stock-dealing, making a specialty of cows. He attended the district schools during his boyhood, and is a man of much general information, keeping himself abreast of the times, as the modern farmer has to do to enjoy a full measure of prosperity.
Mr. Myers married Alice B. Miller, a daughter of Frank Miller, of Norton Township, and they have a family of eight children, namely: Frank, married and residing in Akron; Fred, who married Emma Weaver and resides at home with his parents; Sadie, who is the wife of Charles Messner, and has one child, Florence; Mattie, who married William Helnick, and has one child, Floy; Hattie, who married Elmer Hall and has one child, Harold; and Elsie, Vernie and Chloe. Mr. and Mrs. Myers have their children settled around them, or still remaining under the home roof, and have never yet been called on to part with any of them. The family is one well known all through Norton Township.

I have an old family Bible that lists, among many names, Margaret Rockwell, b. 1 Dec 1909 in Ohio. It also lists "Bessie, wife of C. O. Rockwell" as passing away on 15 Jul 1914, and C. O. Rockwell as passing away on 13 Nov 1942. I believe that C. O. Rockwell (b. 25 Jan 1883) may be your Clifford Rockwell and that my Bessie may be your Bessie Geist (you listed them as married June 1906, which fits). My Bible is signed inside the cover by Mary Jane (KNAPP) Rockwell (b. 28 Nov 1860) and dtd 28 Nov 1886 (must have been a 26th birthday present). The Bible lists the births, marriages, and deaths of several Rockwells, Knapps, and others. I noticed that you have an older Mary Knapp listed in the 1600s, probably just a coincidence. One of the first births listed in the Bible is H. C. Knapp, born 31 Oct 1838 in NY - I noticed that you have a Margaret Woodward Knapp b. abt 1775 from NY. Other Rockwell births listed in my Bible are Harvey Rockwell, June 1833, and Adelia Rockwell, 9 Aug 1840. I have a Knapp/Thompson marriage listed in 1858, a Rockwell/Knapp marriage in 1881, and several other Rockwell marriages, births, and deaths listed in the Bible.
I have a ggrandmother Grace Louise Brown (b. 1885) who married Nellis D. Rockwell (b. 1884, my Dad's grandfather) on 19 May 1908 in Meadville, PA, and whom I visited years ago in Edinboro, PA where they lived most of their married lives. They are all listed in the Bible.
M. J. (THOMPSON) Knapp is listed as born in 1839 in Ireland. M. J., Mary, or Mary Jane seems to be a recurring Knapp name. The other Knapps and early Rockwells listed in my Bible were born in PA. Later Rockwells were born in Ohio.

He married Keziah Doane in 1730 in Eastham, Massachusetts. They had six children in 24 years. He died on July 13, 1789, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried there."
