[12584] living - details excluded
[51747] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 22 March 2017": "Ellsworth - Martha E. Limeburner of Ellsworth left this Earth peacefully surrounded by family at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital on March 20, 2017. She was born in Otter Creek on Nov. 15, 1936, the youngest child of Maurice E. Sr. and V. Ester (Tripp) Smith. Martha attended Mount Desert Island schools in her youth, and through the years shared many wonderful stories of her life and those of others in Otter Creek, Northeast Harbor and Bar Harbor. She loved her family and friends deeply, and she was proud to call herself a housewife, a chosen purpose in life that she took very seriously. Marthas organizational skills and love of cooking and journal keeping were legendary among family members and friends, attributes they were often thankful for. Her generosity and caring were unmatched. No one ever went away hungry from her home. Neighbors were also often blessed by her love and caring, and they would occasionally receive a handwritten letter or card. She loved nature and the wildlife that surrounded and visited her home, and of course, she made sure they were fed too. Her personality and unique and recognizable voice were larger than life. You always knew when she arrived, and family would then line up for smiles, kisses and hugs. Music was a big part of her life. Not only could she play piano and sing, she also collected a wide range of music. This world is now a little quieter without Martha, but her impact on those around her will never be forgotten. She is survived by her son Frank B. Wallace and wife, Cindy, of Franklin, and daughter Linda Wallace of Hancock. Also two very special people, Nelson Jewell and his wife, Shirley, of Levant, who have been a part of her family for many years and did so much for her. She is also survived by grandsons Seth G. Wallace, Adam P. Jewell and his wife, Laura, Wesley J. Jewell, and Zachary Morneault, and granddaughter Amanda Morin and her husband, Joseph; seven great-grandchildren, three of whom she held very dear, Jeremiah, Emma, and Haley Jewell; a special nephew, Maurice and his wife, Sharon, and a special niece, Vashti Cossette, and several more nieces and a nephew. She is survived by six stepdaughters and their children and grandchildren, all from out of state, including her brother and sister-in-law, Burke and Anne Limeburner of North Carolina. Martha had many dear friends whom she held close to her heart, Joanne Smith of Georgia, Betty Doyle of Bar Harbor, Lori Albright-Lauff and her husband, Bill, of Pennsylvania, best friend from childhood, Marilyn Dixon of Pennsylvania, former brother-in-law Bill Wallace and his wife, Lena, of Northeast Harbor, special friends and caregivers Mary McGuire and her family of Ellsworth, Dale Overlock and family of Ellsworth, and Gloria Austin of Ellsworth. Martha was predeceased by her first husband, Burnham (Pop) Wallace, in 1972, and her second husband, MSGT. Phillip G. Limeburner, in 2007; three brothers, Maurice E. (Sonny) Smith, David N. Smith, and Shane R. Smith; a very special grandson, Benjiman N. Jewell; nephew David Smith Jr.; and very dear friend Jane Smith; former mother-in-law, Lois Eaton, whom she loved dearly; and mother and father-in-law, Burke and Carmilita Limeburner."

[32657] Ancestry.com offers: "Stone Name Meaning - English: from Old English stan 'stone', in any of several uses. It is most commonly a topographic name, for someone who lived either on stony ground or by a notable outcrop of rock or a stone boundary-marker or monument, but it is also found as a metonymic occupational name for someone who worked in stone, a mason or stonecutter. There are various places in southern and western England named with this word, for example in Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Somerset, Staffordshire, and Worcestershire, and the surname may also be a habitational name from any of these."
[54774] David is son of Ebenezer Swain (1705-1753) & Lydia Giles (1711-1804; m. 25 March 1730 in Nantucket Co., MA).
