Feb 1965. 29 Nov 1943 Lester enlisted in the US Army as a Private - the enlistment record indicates he had a grammar school education and was a machine operator, and is married. Lester m. Margaret Barnes. "The Perry County Times [New Bloomfield, PA], 18 February 1965," p. 12: "Lester L. Sheibley, 56, Shermans Dale RD 1, died Sunday, Feb. 14, at Carlisle Hospital. A farmer all his life, Mr. Sheibley was a member of Shermans Dale Evangelical United Brethren Church. He was a veteran of World War II, and was treasurer of Young's Church Cemetery Association. He was a member of the New Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge and Shermans Dale Fire Co. Mr. Sheibley was a director on the West Perry Joint School Board, and a director of Bloomfield-Centre-Carroll Swimming Pool Association. Suvivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Barnes Sheibley; two sons, Leroy B. and Richard II., students at Bucknell University; three brothers, Marlin of Landisburg RD, Harold of Carlisle, and Melvin of Marysville RD, and two sisters. Mrs. Owen Ebersole of Duncannon RD 1, and Mrs. Melvin W. Sheibley, Camp Hill. Services were held yesterday, Feb. 17, al the funeral home, 219 N. Hanover street. Carlisle. The Rev. Clarence L. Earnst, his pastor, officiated. Burial was in Elliottsburg Cemetery."
