He is age 14 and living in his parents' household at the 1880 census of Vermillion Twp., Ashland Co., OH. His grave marker has him William Sherman Heichel. Sherman farmed in Perry Twp., Ashland Co., OH. The News Journal, 30 Oct 1949, p. 34: LOUDONVILLE - Sherman W. Heichel, 84. died Saturday afternoon at his home on Mt. Vernon avenue after a short illness. Born Sept. 23, 1865 in Ashland county, he was one of nine children of Michael and Sarah Heichel. He was a member of the Loudonville Methodist church. Surviving are his widow. Mrs. Sylvia Heichel; one daughter, Miss Adola Heichel, of Loudonville; one son, Homer, of Canton; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Query, of Mansfield; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
