He was born on November 13, 1947, in Danforth, Maine, the son of Rex W. and Frances M. (Buchannon) Foss. A graduate of Hermon High School, Butch was a proud and well-known fixture in the Bangor community. For 44 years, he owned and operated Union Street Citgo and Union Street Towing - a business he built from the ground up and poured his heart and soul into. Butch could've done anything he wanted - he was the boss, after all - but you'd always find him in the tow truck, right there alongside his crew. From day one until the day he sold the business, that's where he wanted to be, and that's exactly where he was, every single day. Butch took immense pride in his business and the relationships he built along the way. He was known for his no-nonsense attitude, and if he told you something you didn't want to hear, it was probably because he was right. His honesty, work ethic, and larger-than-life presence made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Away from work, Butch had a deep passion for golf, especially during his cherished time spent in Pinehurst, where many lasting memories were made on the course. He was also a true speed enthusiast- living life in the fast lane with a love for fast cars and even faster snowmobiles, always chasing the next thrill with his adventurous spirit. More than anything, Butch valued time. He lived each day to its fullest, creating moments that will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy lives on - in every story shared, every lesson taught, and yes, every time a Union Street truck rolls by. Butch is survived by his loving companion of many years, Holly Scott of Orrington; his two children, Theresa Foss and her fiancé, John, of Hampden, and Clifford Foss and his wife, Lisa, of South Hadley, Massachusetts. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Hannah Hutchins and her husband, Kellen, of Hampden, Brice Foss of Fayetteville, NC, Halei Foss of South Hadley, MA, and Alissa Ekren and her husband, Enes, of Arlington, MA. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Sailor Hutchins. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Taylor and her husband, Robert, of Fairfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. Butch will be fondly remembered by Holly's family, with whom he was especially close, Heath Miller and his wife, Heather, and their children, Ethan and Makayla, and Lee Miller and his wife, Bethany, and their children, Brody and Brayden."
