[2712] Simon became Earl of Leicester via marriage with Amicia de Beaumont. His grandson, Simon V de Montfort, b. ca. 1208, played a major role in 13th century England (see Thomas B. Costain, "The Magnificent Century" [Doubleday & Co., 1951, pp.152ff.]), and married Eleanor, sister of King Henry III. Simon III was Seigneur of Montfort-l'Amaury (near Paris). He was called "Le Chauve." See Find A Grave Memorial 68606285 which states "Simon married an Amicia and a Matilda about 1140 and had three children: * Bertrade, wife of Sir Hugh of Kevelioc, Earl of Chester; * Simon IV, married Amicia de Beaumont; * Amaury V de Montfort, married Mabel FitzWilliam, Countess of Gloucester."

[3591] http://www.free-definition.com/Franconia.html offers: "Franconia (German, Franken), a region in Germany now part of Bavaria. The area was the seat of the Holy Roman Emperors, and is considered one of the five original stem duchies that made up the Holy Roman Empire. Throughout the Middle Ages and into the Early Modern period, much of Upper Franconia, especially those areas that had once been parts of Thuringia, fell under the control of the Bishop of Bamberg, the Bishop of Würzburg, and the Abbot of Fulda."
[402] Lew Griffin of Phoenix, AZ at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~lewgriffin/p362.htm (not verified) provides further ancestry and states "James is believed to have married a cadet Drummond. He was a page to Donald, 2nd Lord Drummond."
