[4667] Lawrence was in Fulton Co., OH where he was elected Justice of the Peace at age 21, serving for three years. He spent a few years as a merchant. Lawrence enlisted 19 July 1862 and was commissioned 1 September 1862 a Captain in Co. H, 100th Ohio Infantry Regiment; mustered out 27 November 1862. He later served as a Major and then a Colonel in the Ohio National Guard. In August 1866 he moved to Huntington, Huntington Co., IN and served as pastor of the Christian Church there for more than twenty years. (Ref.
