Lorena was born April 2, 1934, to the late Harold and Sylvina (Carver) Alley. She grew up on Beals Island. Lorena was one of the 'old-fashioned' schoolteachers, and over the years became well known by many as 'one of the best teachers I ever had.' She always took great pride in helping those who struggled to learn, and she did it with kindness and respect for their individuality. Lorena was also a kind and generous person at heart, always shopping for, and gifting, those less fortunate, not only at Christmastime, but throughout the year. Married to Willard until his death in 2017, she was the epitome of a 'virtuous woman,' leading her home with integrity and discipline. She was a loving mother to their children, two of whom, along with their spouses, survive her - Charles (Julie) and Kathy (Jim), as well as her daughter-in-law, Cindy. Also surviving 'Grammie,' as she was lovingly known, are her adored grandchildren, Joseph, Alyssa, Mack, Dedra, Katie, Brady, Connor, Hannah, Kyle and her newest, great-grandaughter Ellouise."

[33827] "The Perry County Times [New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania], 24 November 1921," p. 3: "A. K. Dobbs, Esq., one of the best known citizens of the western part of the county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Ehlmah, Sandy Hill, this county, on tbe 17th inst., from the failing powers of old age. The deceased was an only son and child of tne late John R. and Rebecca (Arbuckle) Dobbs, and was born in Tuscarora township, Juniata county, Nov 2, 1838. At his death he was aged 83 years and 15 days. He was of Scotch-Irish parentage. His father dying when he was a year old, he was brought up in the home of his maternal grandfather. He attended common school and later Tuscarora Academy, Pa. In 1856 he was a clerk In the store at McCullock's Mills. A year later he clerked for Sam'l Milligan at Sandy Hill, remaining there nearly 3 years. He then clerked for A. J. Ferguson at Waterford, and with J. B. Okeson, at Port Royal. May 4, 1864, he married Sarah E., daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Rice) Rice, and engaged in farming. From this union there resulted five children, the following surviving: Samuel R.. Harrisburg; Sarah J. - Mrs. Frank Eblman, Sandy Hill and Edward M., of Spring township. Mrs. Dobbs died Nov. 6, 1908. Mr. Dobbs was a successful farmer until advancing years and feeble health compelled him to relinquish that following. He was frequently elected to township offlices and as Justice of the Peace made an enviable reputation for his sound judgment in settling disputes. Such was the confidence in his judgment by his fellow citizens that for twenty years he served as assessor of his township, 'Squire Dobbs' was respected by all who knew him and stood high in the community in which he so long lived. Funeral services were held from his late residence Sunday afternoon with interment in the Buffalo graveyard. Rev. A. C. Forscht, of the Ickesburg Lutheran church, officiating."

Also surviving Uriah is his maternal grandmother, Marie Kehrberg of Augusta, MI; five aunts and uncles, Chris and Randy Carlson of Vernon Hills, IL, Cyndi and Darrell Woods of Mount Vernon, IN, Skip and Dale Kehrberg of Welland, Ontario, Canada, Marcia and John Carrier of Richland, MI, Paula Kehrberg of Paw Paw, MI; five cousins, Andrea and Dennis Dunn of Chicago, IL, Jessica Carrier of Richland, MI, Jason Carlson of Vernon Hills, IL, Celia Kehrberg of Paw Paw, MI, Amber and Chris Drake of Toronto, Canada; a great-aunt and uncle, Joan and Howard Ewles of Otsego, MI; and his father, Thomas C. J. Martin of Marcellus, MI. Uriah was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Gil Kehrberg (September 30, 2005). He lived most of his life in Augusta, MI. Uriah was in the seventh grade class of Galesburg-Augusta Middle School where he played basketball and took great pride in serving at the Senior citizens breakfasts. Uriah was a loving and caring child who always thought of others. He came from a great loving family. He was the 'pride and joy' of his Mom's life and was a pleasure to be around. He enjoyed celebrating Renaissance Fairs with his Mom and friends. He was very creative, thoughtful and full of love. Uriah's smile could carry you through the day. Always quick with a hug and to tell you 'Love You.' He played basketball for Galesburg-Augusta; he enjoyed bowling, video games and any computer action or just spending time with his family. He is loved by all and will be missed by all - We love you Uriah, Grandpa will be by your side now and always. . . . Cremation has been held."
