"The "News-Item [Shamokin, Pennsylvania], 20 July 1977," p. 8: "Bernard Dutt (Dutcavich), 5808 Fifth Road South, Arlington, Va. and a native of Shamokin, died Friday morning at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Shamokin, the son of the late John and Agnes Casper Dutcavich and attended Shamokin Schools. Dutt was a graduate of Park Air College, St. Louis, Mo. and was a flight instructor at Shamokin, Danville and Sunbury airports until he left the area in 1941. He was a retired captain with United Airlines, Washington, D.C. Surviving are his wife, the former Leona Sommerday, formerly of Shamokin; a brother, Vincent, of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Jr.; a brother, John, and a sister, Mary Wardrop. Funeral services and interment were held Tuesday in Arlington."

He was the last of his parents family. June 6, 1854 he was married to Sarah Billman and their six children are living with the exception of their daughter Alice, namely; Saide--Mrs. William H. Smith of Buck's Valley; Annie--Mrs. George Freeman, Loysville; McClellan Shumaker, Lewistown; John Shumaker, of Loysville; and Samuel S. Shumaker, in Philadelphia. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was a life member of the Lebanon Reformed Church, Loysville, and his pastor, Rev. S.R. Kresge, conducted funeral services at his late home Saturday at 11 a.m. with interment in the Reformed Church Cemetery, at that place."
