[57915] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 24 April 2023: "Saco - Mary Chase Bailey, age 94, passed away on April 23, 2023, at The Landing at Saco Bay. She was born in Grindstone, Maine, on December 14, 1928, a daughter of Dean and Wauneta (Hodgkins) Chase. She fondly remembered her experiences while growing up at the Rice Farm and the woodsmen her mother fed there daily. At the age of 15, she left Millinocket to attend Shaw School of Business (Husson) and returned to Millinocket upon graduation. In 1950, she married Russell Bailey and raised their family in Millinocket. Mary worked for the Great Northern Paper Company for 27 years. After retirement, Mary and Russ moved to Yarmouth and, later, she spent many years in Scarborough with her daughter and grandson. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially if it involved going for a ride and dining at one of her secret spots along the Maine coast. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Russell, who passed away in 1995. She also was predeceased by her sister, Hope; and three brothers, Dean, Jack, and Hilton (Budd). She will be greatly missed by her children, Russell Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Collierville, TN, Roger and his wife, Judy, of Destin, FL, and Nancy of Scarborough; five grandchildren, Aaron, David, Ben, Erin, and Sam; two great-grandchildren, River and Holden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also a very special friend and sister-in-law, Cynthia Chase, of Scarborough, whom Mom affectionately called her 'sister.'"

Amadeus VIII was make a duke by the Emperor and added Piedmont to his lands. He retired to a hermitage on the Lake of Geneva when he styled himself Count of Geneva. Although a layman, in 1439 he was elected anti-pope Felix V by the remnants of the Council of Basel - never recognized by the whole western Church, he abdicated in 1449 and was at this time made a Cardinal. In 1401 he married Marie de Bourgogne (1380-1422) with whom he had nine children.
Wikipedia offers: "Amadeus VIII (September 4, 1383 - January 7, 1451) was the son of Amadeus VII, Count of Savoy and Bonne of Berry. He was surnamed the Peaceful and was the Count of Savoy from 1391 to 1416 and was elevated by Emperor Sigismund to the Duke of Savoy in 1416. Amadeus was also the antipope Felix V, elected by the Council of Basel-Ferrara-Florence, from November 1439 to April 1449. After the death of his father in 1391, his mother acted as a regent, because of his youth. In 1418 his distant cousin Louis of Savoy-Achaea, his brother-in-law, the last male of the elder branch of House of Savoy, died, leaving Amadeus as his heir-general, thus finally uniting the male-lines of the House of Savoy. He increased his dominions, encouraged several attempts to negotiate an end to the Hundred Years' War, and, after the death of his wife, retired from his position as Duke to become a hermit. Elected by the Council of Basel as an alternative Pope in opposition to Pope Eugene IV, Amadeus served as Felix V, regarded as an antipope, before stepping down to accept a Cardinal's hat instead. Amadeus' image in history is marred by the account of him as a pontiff concerned with money, to avoid disadvantaging his heirs, found in the 'Commentaries' of Pius II. Nor is there evidence that he intrigued to obtain the papal office, sending the bishops of Savoy to Basel for this purpose. (Note on numbering: When numbering of the Popes began to be used, Antipope Felix II was counted as one of the Popes of that name. The second true Pope Felix is thus known by the number III, and the true third Pope Felix was given the number IV. It also affected the name taken by Amadeus, who would have been the fourth Pope Felix.)"
In 2007 http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/SAVOY.htm offers: "The testament of 'Conte Amedeo di Savoia' dated 1 Oct 1391 names 'Amedeo di Lui figlio' as his heir 'sotto la tutela di detta Bourbon sua Madre col consiglio di detto Signore di Cossonay'. He succeeded his father in 1391 as Amedee VIII Comte de Savoie, under the regency of his paternal grandmother. Comte de Genève 1401, confirmed 1422 [1424]. Seigneur d'Orne, d'Echallens, de Montagny et de Bottens 1414. He was created Duke of Savoy by Sigmund King of Germany in 1417. Signore del Piemonte 1419. He abdicated 7 Nov 1434 and retired to château de Ripaille, near Thonon, Lake Geneva, where he founded an order of Knight-hermits of St Maurice and styled himself Comte de Genève. He was elected anti-pope Felix V 14 Dec 1439 by the remnants of the Council of Basel, enthroned at Basel 24 Jun 1440. Recognised by few, he retired to Lausanne 17 Nov 1442. Bishop of Geneva 1444. After the mediation of Charles VII King of France with Pope Nicholas V, Felix abdicated as Pope 7 Apr 1449. In compensation he was named Cardinal-Bishop of Sainte-Sabine 18 Jun 1449. The testament of 'Amedeo octavo Duca di Savoia' dated 6 Dec 1439 chooses his burial 'nel Monasterio d'Alta Comba', makes bequests to 'P. P. Find A Grave Memorial 62808067 offers:
He is mentioned as a 'saddler;' but like all his fellow pioneers he must have been largely occupied in the clearing and cultivation of his land, and in documents relative to the division of his property, made soon after his death, he is styled 'gentleman.' He is said to have removed to Kingston, N. H., in 1738, but the places of birth of his children suggest that for some years it may have been uncertain in which of the two neighboring settlements, Salisbury and Kingston, he was a resident. And even after his removal to New Ipswich, which reliable and well supported tradition locates at least as early as 1745, a deed given him by his near neighbor, Benjamin Hoar, names him as being of Kingston. But it seems certain that he was the third, possibly the fourth settler in New Ipswich, his first home being at the southern end of VI : 1, S. R., on the short piece of the old country road extending downward from the road connecting Bank Village with the Congregational church to the road along the river. Perhaps the vestiges of a cellar still visible there mark the place of that early abode. He later removed to II : 1, S. R., where the probable position of his well on the north side of the abandoned road is still discernible. He is supposed to have won his title of captain by service in the French and Indian wars, and he seems to have commanded the first military company formed in New Ipswich. He was the only inhabitant remaining unmoved during the general withdrawal to Townsend in 1748. He was elected town clerk and also first selectman at the first town meeting after the incorporation of the town. Although only in his sixty-fifth year at the time of his death he is said to have been the oldest person in the town.
