[60383] The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 2 September 2025: "Williamsport, Pennsylvania - Lawrence W. Emery Jr. left this earthly world on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after an extended illness. Larry was born in Bangor, ME, in 1942. He was one of 6 children born to Lawrence W Emery Sr. and Virginia Moulton Emery. Emery's Market, a local grocery store was the family business, providing much enjoyment for the growing family. Larry graduated Bangor High School in 1960 and went to on to earn his BS in education from the University of Maine, Orono. Later he earned his MS in education, guidance, and counseling from State University Of New York College at Oneonta, Oneonta, NY. He completed additional graduate work at State University of NY and Penn State University. He served in the United States Air Force 1966-1970, and honorably discharged. Larry retired, after 32 years, from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, formerly the Williamsport Area Community College. He held the positions of director of advisement and career services, coordinator of new options/sex equity project, and his favorite position, career counselor. He was married to his devoted wife, E. Margaret 'Maggie' Emery, for 47 years. Together they owned and operated Serene View Farm Bed and Breakfast, where they opened their home to hundreds of wonderful people for 22 years. His favorite past time was volunteering as grid martial for the Sports Car Club of America at Watkins Glen and various other tracks. On Sundays, you would find him attending Loyalsock Baptist Church. Larry was a long time member of the Plunketts Creek Township Fire Department, served on the planning commission and was a school board member for Montoursville Area School District. Larry's life exemplified selflessness, faith, love of Jesus, and generosity. We remember and will forever cherish his love of family, friends, and those whose lives he touched in such special ways. Larry's humor and quick wit would light up a room and put a smile on your face! In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Emery; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Bobinger. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister, Margaret 'Peggy' Wagner (Robert Wagner) Louise Shindler; brothers, Phil Emery (Patty), Tom Emery (Jill Emery), and Tim Emery. He also leaves daughter, Lauryl Lynn Emick Galante (Gregory Galante); three sons, Daniel Wayne Emick (Eukaris Rodriguez), Peter DeLance Emick, and William Lee Emick Jr. (Catherine Emick); four grandchildren, Vanessa Gehr Fought (James Gilbert), Adrianne Gehr Basinger (Ty Basinger), Latisha Bobinger, Jared Barber (Lori Barber) Lauren Galante, Tessa Moore (Michael Moore); great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Schusler (Sean Fetrow), Madison Schusler (Matt Snyder), Rosalyn Fought, Eben Manning (Jaiden Bradley), Finn Basinger, Scarlet Basinger, Emily Barber, Olivia Barber, Madeline McAdow (Trent McAdow), Ryan Adams, Daryl Bobinger, Kayla LeBeau (Nicholas Mele), Shane Galante, Giles, Brighton, Uriah, and Mason Moore; and great-great-granddaughter, Clover Jude D'Alessandro."

[60119] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 10 August 2025: "Corinth, Maine - Bernice "Bunny" A. (McLaughlin) Furge, 81, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends in Bangor. Bunny was born in Bangor, Maine, on November 3, 1943, to Howard A. McLaughlin and Alma E. Kinney of Eaton. She attended schools in Eaton and Danforth. Answering the call of God, she left high school to attend Long Island Bible Institute, where she graduated after three years in 1962 at the age of 19. She went on to be a missionary to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. She later earned her GED, a CNA certificate, and a beautician's certificate from Mansfield Beauty Academy. She was also a pastry cook for a short time. Her true calling was working for the Lord in any way she could. She was a pastor's wife, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, a host for women's fellowship breakfast, and a senior's group pastor. She touched many lives by going to different churches, singing and preaching the gospel. She recorded her first album in 1977 and many more CD's later on. Bunny was a volunteer chaplain for St. Joseph Hospital for five years. She played piano, accordion, and guitar. She loved to write and sing music for the Lord and recently published two books. She loved her family and church family. Charleston Church was her home for the last 35 years. She is survived by her two sons, Duane and wife, Amy, of Levant and David and wife, Jodi, of Brookton; two beautiful granddaughters, Kaitlyn Furge Rollins and husband, Zac, of Levant and Brittany Furge Bourgoine and husband, Matthew, of Stetson; two handsome grandsons, Davis Furge and wife, Chloe, of Abilene, TX, and Dawson Furge and wife, Brianna, of Baton Rouge, LA; three great-grandsons, Noah and Levi Bourgoine of Stetson and Beaux Furge of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister, Jane Shain and husband, Wendall, of Brookton; two special nieces, Lynna Austin and April Young; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by husband, Willie; her parents; and a brother, Carl McLaughlin."
