[38862] The 8 April 1930 federal census in Ward 9, Cleveland, OH lists Esther in her parents' family: August Garr (age 59, b. in Germany, a boiler maker), wife Ida (54, b. in Germany), daughter Evelyn (24, b. in OH, a machine operator in a box factory) and daughter Esther (17, b. in OH). Next door is more of the family: Edward Garr (32, welder in a sheet metal works), wife Emma (30, machine operator in a paper box factory), daughter Dorothy (5) and daughter Jean (3).
[5795] {The ancestry shown here for his wife is from "The Visitation of Buckinghamshire," Publications of the Harleian Society, Vol. 58 (1909), p. 201, where he is "Of Swerford, Oxf."} Ancestry.com offers: "Hall Name Meaning - English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Scandinavian: from Middle English hall (Old English heall), Middle High German halle, Old Norse holl all meaning hall (a spacious residence), hence a topographic name for someone who lived in or near a hall or an occupational name for a servant employed at a hall. In some cases it may be a habitational name from places named with this word, which in some parts of Germany and Austria in the Middle Ages also denoted a salt mine. The English name has been established in Ireland since the Middle Ages, and, according to MacLysaght, has become numerous in Ulster since the 17th century."
[60989] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 3 April 1911: "The body of Brayton P. Hodgdon of West Levant, who disappeared March 19, was found Sunday morning by three boys Ernest Carson, Vernon Body and Calvin Titcomb in a cedar swamp about one and one half miles from his home. Beside the body lay a rifle, from which one shot had been fired. The bullet had struck Hodgdon beneath the ribs in the left side, passed directly through his body and came out of his back. The wound however, was not of character to have caused instant death, and there were evidences that he had laid and suffered perhaps for some little time. When Brayton first disappeared it was thought he might have come to Bangor, inquiry among his friends in this vicinity, however, elicited no information, and so the woods near his home were searched. His family believe he had gone hunting, the fatal shot being discharged by accident. Coroner Finnigan was called, but decided that no inquest will be necessary. Brayton was a carpenter, 47 years and eight months of age, and until a year and half ago, he resided in Bangor. He leaves his wife, eight children, his father, a sister and four others. The body was taken to the home of his brother George M. Hodgdon of West Levant." He is son of James M. Hodgdon (1827-1918) & Sarah D. Turner (1828-1898; m. 14 August 1852 in Penobscot Co., ME).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki offers: "Ruaidrí mac Fáeláin (died 785) was a King of Leinster of the Uí Fáeláin sept of the Uí Dúnlainge branch of the Laigin. He was the son of Fáelán mac Murchado (died 738), a previous king. This sept had their royal seat at Naas in the eastern part of the Liffey plain, Airthir Liphi. He ruled from 776 to 785.
The men of Leinster had submitted to the authority of the high king Donnchad Midi (died 797) of the Clann Cholmáin in 770. In 777 a host of the Laigin was led by Donnchad into his war with the Síl nÁedo Sláine of Brega."
