Strout, 92, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Strout at Cherryfield after a brief illness. She was born at Cherryfield Sept. 8, 1865, daughter of the late George W. and Caroline (Wallace) Strout. Surviving are three sons, Harold, Russell and Albert, all of Waterville; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Strout; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews."

At the Imperial Diet of Worms in 1521 he encountered Martin Luther. In 1523 he appointed Johann Schwebel the high chaplain of Zweibrücken. He failed in his attempts against the Abbeys of Hornbach and Wörschweiler. In 1529 he made possible the Swiss Marburg Colloquy by enabling German protestant theologians the ability to bypass the territories of the Archbishopric of Mainz and the Bishoprics of Speyer and Worms."
