[60294] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," Indianapolis, Indiana - Sunday June 7th, 2020, after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer, Lauri Leighton Doescher has been reunited with her loving husband, John Fredrick Doescher (Jay). She was surrounded by loved ones and her passing was very peaceful. Lauri, who was born in Houlton Maine, was 64 years old. She has always had a big heart and her love for her many friends, family, and pretty much any animal on the planet (except snakes) was very evident. If you were lucky enough to have been loved by her, you know how fiercely loyal and protective she was. Although her son, Ryan Doescher has lost a second parent to this horrible disease, he and his wife Sara Doescher have never felt so loved and supported. People have been reaching out from all over the world to share their memories and condolences. In the midst of this pandemic, people have had to get creative in staying in contact with one another. The Doescher family has greatly benefited from that. One of Lauri's most impressive accomplishments was her ability to maintain and cultivate friendships. All over the country, people are grieving her loss because to be her friend was an absolute gift. She will be missed by so many. Her coworkers from her 23 year career at Walmart. Her friends, old and new, in Maine and Indiana. Her family, that continues to grow as we find people that are in need of the familial love and support that we are always happy to provide. We want to thank everyone for reminding us how fantastic Lauri's life has been. She lived it unapologetically. She stood up for what she believed in. She took care of anyone who needed it. Her love is not gone. It can still be felt by those left behind. With your help, We will continue to honor her story and her legacy."
