As reported by Forrest Shade: Blair is 72 years old and lives within 35 miles of the Cyrus Greim house, but he believes that house was probably not built by Andreas. His thinking is that Andreas' house is situated a little north of the Greim house, on land that Andreas purchased shortly after he arrived in the area. (This would be either the 75 acres he purchased July 20, 1753, or maybe the 64 acres purchased in 1759). Blair's thinking is supported by his finding an old log house on one of these properties. Near to the old log house is a cellar of a much smaller house, and two ponds fed by a spring. This is in keeping with the clause in Andreas' Last Will wherein he directed: "my beloved wife shall live on my plantation during her natural life, she to live in the house which the owner of my plantation shall built for her. Near the spring house well furnished with a stove in the room as also build a springhouse for her." Blair tells me that he has never talked to the owner of this old log house, but that the land belongs to a man that won the Pennsylvania State Lottery, and is in the process of making major improvements to the land (too bad). He agreed to drive over and get the name and address of the owner, so that we can make further inquiry. Blair also is most agreeable to helping with any Shade research. ===Oct 1, 2001 letter from Blair - he sent a map sowing the location of a barn, house and pond just north of t he intersection of Derr Rd and Henne Rd. This is the house that he believes might be the one refered to in Andreas' Will - the one he wanted built for his widow. He has yet to talk to the owners of that property - but plans to do so. (copy of this letter and map is in my Andreas paper file) ===I sent Blair his ancestry charts and some Shade maps and deeds ===Oct 21, 2001 Blair called. He has now talked to the owner of the house he believes might be Andreas' house. The owner (name unk) is about 55 and single and having won the lottery is fixing up the place (recently appraised at $400,000) He invited Blair into the house which Blair says is a log house at least 200 years old, with a cellar beneath the basement that might have been used for food storage and/or hiding from the Indians.
