[1529] Philip II was crowned 1 Nov 1179 at Reims during his father's reign; led Crusade with Richard of England but took ill at seige of Acre and returned to Paris (Christmas, 1191), and betrayed Richard; he went on to conquer Normandy and prepared to invade England (but King John came to terms with him); turned back John's invasion in 1214 and dealt with other threats; favored the merchants while building a strong central government. Phillip II reigned 1180-1223 and was also Count of Artois. Isabella of Hainault was his first wife; he also married (2)(in 1193) Isambour of Denmark (no children; divorce not recognized by the Pope) and (3) Agnes de Meran (children legitimized by Popt Innocent III: Philippe Hurepel, Count of Boulogne by marriage to the heiress of the county, and Marie, betrothed to Arthur). Philipp II also had a "morganatic union" with "a maiden of Arras" by whom he had Pierre Charlot, Bishop of Noyon. See "Richard and John: Kings at War," Frank McLynn (Cambridge, MA: Da Capo Press, 2007). See http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippe_II_de_France.

Find A Grave memorial 123456742 offers: "She was the daughter of John George and Judith Rockwood. Her father died when she was 5 months old.
When she was 5 years old, her mother Judith (Rockwood) George married Eleazer Metcalf. Judith (the daughter) married Samuel Metcalf, May 20, 1724, Boston, Mass. Samuel was a 1st cousin of her step-father, Eleazer Metcalf. (Samuel's father was also Eleazer, but a different one). Judith lived in Wrentham, Mass. at the time of her marriage. She and Samuel had 6 children before he died in 1737 (age 49). Judith remarried to Benjamin Clark, Apr 29, 1741 in Wrentham, Mass.
Ancestry.com offers: "George Name Meaning - English, Welsh, French, South Indian, etc.: from the personal name George, Greek Georgios, from an adjectival form, georgios 'rustic', of georgos 'farmer'. This became established as a personal name in classical times through its association with the fashion for pastoral poetry. Its popularity in western Europe increased at the time of the Crusades, which brought greater contact with the Orthodox Church, in which several saints and martyrs of this name are venerated, in particular a saint believed to have been martyred at Nicomedia in ad 303, who, however, is at best a shadowy figure historically. Nevertheless, by the end of the Middle Ages St. George had become associated with an unhistorical legend of dragon-slaying exploits, which caught the popular imagination throughout Europe, and he came to be considered the patron saint of England among other places. As an American family name, this has absorbed cognates from other European languages, including German Georg and Greek patronymics such as Georgiou, Georgiadis, Georgopoulos, and the status name Papageorgiou 'priest George'. In English-speaking countries, this surname is also found as an Anglicized form of Greek surnames such as Hatzigeorgiou 'George the Pilgrim' and patronymics such as Giorgopoulos 'son of George'."
