[12422] News-Journal [Mansfield, OH], 21 January 1992, p. 5: Funeral services for Margaret Katherine Baer, 85, of 1306 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc, Wis., will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dale L. Schaefer. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors and also at the church one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the First English Lutheran Church. She died Sunday morning at Shorehaven Health Center in Oconomowoc. Mrs. Baer was born Aug. 10, 1906, in Mansfield and had lived here before moving to Lake Keesus, Wis., in 1984. She was a receptionist for Dr. Riley Frush until retirement. A member of First English Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and married in 1924, Mrs. Baer was a primary Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She was a member of Gold Star Mothers and Conard House. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. H. Jack and Margery Baer of Warren, Mich., Dr. Robert and Beth Baer of Fairfield, Ohio, and Richard and Nancy Baer of Oconomowoc; a sister, Emma Jo Frye of Mansfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Baer, in 1985 and a son, Harry Lee Baer Jr.

[42605] "The Perry County Democrat, 5 June 1901," p. 3: "Simon P. Kern, Esq., one of tbe best-known and most highly respected citizens of tbe upper end died at his horne in Blain on Saturday night. For several years past he has been in ill bealth, having been a sufferer from heart disease, and several times during that period he has had severe spell which brought him near to death door, but be always rallied, being large, powerfully built man of fine physique, bis strong constitution and determined will-power pulling him through, when many another man would have succumbed. Last winter he went to Philadelphia to one of the city hospitals for treatment and came back somewhat improved, but the improvement was only temporary and he was at last compelled to yield up his life, after having made a gallant fight against tbe grim destroyer death He is survived by a loving wife and four children, namely: Roy, of Myersdale, Somerset county, Pa., and Fred, Frank and Grace, at home. The funeral will be at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. He was aged about 55 years. Squire Kern was a prominent and useful citizen. For some years past and up to the time of his death bh was engaged in the mercantile business in Blain. He was held in high esteem wherever he was known, and for several terms consecutively, has held the office of Justice of the Peace. He has also been a school director and acceptably filled other offices of honor and trust in the municipal government of his home borough. In politics he was a Democrat and was a leading and influential citizen. For years past he has been the able correspoiident of this paper at Blain and his newsy and well-written letters have been read with pleasure and profit by our many readers. His valuable services to this paper are highly appreciated and will ever be gratefully remembered. A christian gentlemen of high intelligence, good judgment and sound moral character, he has left bebind him a name of which his children can well be proud, and by his death the community in which he lived loses one of its most worthy and useful members."

There has been confusion as to the parents of William Morton. Virginia Horler
"Bryant 2nd, who married Love Frost, and his family lived first in Gorham, North Yarmouth and Berwick and back to Gorham. He arrived at Jackson Plantation in 1804 and settled on Lot #43.
His son, Bryant 3rd and his wife Mary made their home with Bryant 2nd and his wife. Other Mortons arriving in Jackson in the early 1800's were Ebenezer and Elisha Morton, and Thomas and Hannah Wescott Morton. The name Bryant was not spelled with a 'Y' in their bible records (Briant).
"He died 26 May 1812 at his farm in Jackson of cancer. Buried at his request in his orchard east of the house. Lot #43.
"A Vassalboro Quaker in 1796.

Now to your question about Sabrina. My source was an ancestry.com world tree by 'Contact Unknown'. The Morton-Rich Ancestry has no information on the children of William Morton and Love Frost. I did look at the vital records of marriages at Belfast, Waldo, Maine and certainly agree with you that this Sabrina must have married Oliver Bean 25 Nov 1822 in Belfast. I have changed my own records to reflect this marriage."
Virginial Horler wrote is 2020: "The deed in question was signed in 1818 but not recorded until 1823 in Cumberland Co ME, DB94 p313, between William and Lydia (Strout) Morton, Ephraim and Sally (Strout) Gent, and Jonathan and Rhoda Strout who deeded Cape Elizabeth land to Jesse Dyer. (Sally Strout who married Ephraim Gent and Jonathan Strout were sister and brother of Lydia Strout). The grantee I gave you is Jesse Brown, whereas the correct grantee is Jesse Dyer. [40683] An unverified Bradbury Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "When William Traske was born on December 14, 1585, in East Coker, Somerset, his father, Nicholas, was 24 and his mother, Christyan, was 24. He was married in 1635 in Massachusetts. He died on May 15, 1666, in Salem, Massachusetts, having lived a long life of 80 years. Mary Sara Southwick was born in 1605 in Lancaster, Lancashire, the child of Lawrence and Cassandra. She had two sons and three daughters with William Traske. She died in 1696 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the impressive age of 91." This portion of the line requires further research.
