[49501] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 6 September 1945", p. 3: "Ellsworth - Herbert S. Beal, 49, prominent Ellsworth business man, died here suddenly today. He went for a walk on path toward a saw mill this morning and was found there about noon by his son, Dr. I. W. Clarke and Deputy Sheriff Claude Bonsey. Investigated and reported death was due to natural causes. For several years Mr. Beal had conducted a Jewelry store on Main street. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and other business associations, a prominent Mason and a trustee of the Unitarian church. Surviving him are his parents, Clifton and Lucy Beal of Ellsworth; his wife, Corice; three sons, William, Robert and Sheldon; several brothers and sisters. . . . Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery"

[3765] Rudolph of Aalst (or Alost) in Flanders was also called Ralph (or Raoul) of Gand or Ghent and was living in 1058 (as was his wife Gisele). He was Lord of Aalst and hereditary Advocate or Protector of St. Peter of Ghent, 1036-56. An unverified Web site gives his father as Adalbert of Gant (d. 1032), son of Count Arnulph of Holland (d. 993) and Luitgarde of Cleves (d. 1005) and gives Adalbert's wife as Ermengarde of Flanders.
