Forrest graduated in 1927 from The University of Akron (serving as President of its alumni at least one term), and entered the real estate business with his father, concentrating on appraisal.
He was active in politics (Democratic Party convention delegate Clarence Motz of Akron was pledged to him as party nominee for President one year), was President of the Young Men's Democratic Club in Summit County, Secretary of the Summit County Democratic Party, and often mentioned as a candidate for Mayor by younger party men. He was elected Delegate to the 1944 Ohio State Convention of the Democratic Party. He managed Democrat Dean May's successful campaign for Probate Judge; May served multiple terms and Forrest regularly testified on real estate valuations in his court. He was highly regarded for his probity.
He served many years as intermediate department superintendent of Trinity Lutheran Church (http://trinity.lutheran-church.org/about/history.html) and as a member of the Church Council. He was Potentate of Tadmor Temple, helped organize and served in the housing authority (a member of the initial Municipal Housing Authority board in 1939), and made many other civic contributions to Akron. As a long-time member of the metropolitan park board, he worked hard to expand the park system. He was an avid sportsman (fisherman and hunter of deer, moose, and water fowl). He was youngest president of the Akron Area Board of Realtors (1938) and one of five founding members of (and President of) the Akron Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He was a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers, Western District Commissioner of Boy Scouts of America's Fir Hill Council, Trustee of Akron Community Trusts, Trustee (and from 1992 resident) of Sumner Home for the Aged, Director and Chief Appraiser of Evans Savings Ass'n, Director of Centran Bank, founder and board member of the Akron Municipal Housing Authority (he was one of the original leaders who helped create public housing administration for all of Summit County), founder of Young Men's Democratic Club (Summit County), multi-term President of the Alumni Association of The University of Akron, founder of Penobscot (ME) Historical Society, Director of Castine (ME) Scientific Society, Life Member of The Perry Historians (Newport, PA), member 73196 of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution [Lafayette Chapter, Ohio Society]), member of The Ohio Genealogical Society, member of Akron City Club, Castine Country Club, Castine Men's Club and for 36 years of Congress Lake Club (Hartville, OH), Izaak Walton League of America, Lutheran Laity Movement for Stewardship, and active in various Masonic organizations.

HEAD OF MIFFLINTOWN SCHOOLS RECEIVES DISTINCTIVE HONORS
Tuesday of last week, Mr. B. R. Weimer, the efficient principal of the Mifflintown schools was the recipient of distinctive honors when at the University of West Virginia, Morgantown, he was initiated into the membership of the Phi Beta Kappa Society - Membership, into this society is conferred only upon those of exceptional scholastic standing, or for work of marked merit. Mr. Weimer was elected because of research work done in zoology. This work was published in issue of last June of the Journal of the American Microscopical Society. - (Juniata Tribune - 26 JUN 1919)
+++++++
Announcement is made that B. R. Weimer, principal of Mifflintown schools, has tendered his resignation to the School Board effective July 1, 1921 when his term and present contract expire.
It is understood that Mr. Weimer has accepted the professorship at the head of the Department of Biology at Bethany College, Bethany, W. Va. At an increase in salary. He will assume his duties on September 1.
Prof. Weimer came here nearly three years ago when the public schools of Mifflintown were in a chaotic condition due to the flu epidemic. With business ability rarely evidenced in a man so young, he took charge and soon had the schools in a flourishing condition. It is principally through his efforts that the twin city band was organized, of which he still retains the leadership. There are few young men more capable or energetic man Mr. Weimer, and many friends will express regret at his departure. - (Juniata Tribune of 24 March 1921)
