[9655] Find A Grave memorial 83835083 offers Emma's obituary: "Funeral services for Mrs. Emma May Loy Scott, 81, will be held from the Congregational Church in Avoca today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Fausnacht officiating. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Scott was born on April 30, 1884 at Shermandale (Shermans Dale?), Penn. and died at the hospital in Harlan on Monday, July 5th. She attended school at Newtown, just south and east of Avoca and the Avoca high school. She taught county schools in this vicinity for three years. She was married to Harry Isaac Scott on June 13, 1908. She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Curtis Harris of Avoca, Miss Viola Scott and Miss Esther Scott of Avoca, Mrs. Alvin Holtz of Avoca and Mrs. Leroy Plagman of Kimballton; a son, Howard Scott of Avoca; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a half-sister, Mrs. Ida Chandler of Omaha. Mrs. Scott came to Avoca in 1897 from Pennsylvania. She and her husband retired from farming in 1941 and moved to Avoca."
