[4991] Robert apparently arrived in Maryland in 1662. Robert's will, probated 13 Nov 1694 in Anne Arundel Co., MD, names his granddaughter Jane Westhall, and names George Westhall as his overseer. George Westhall and his wife Sarah signed as witnesses. See "Anne Arundel Gentry," Harry Wright Newman (1979). Robert resided at South River, Maryland, and also had Robert, Jane, Temperance (bur. 16 May 1705, All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel Co., m. 04 Feb 1697 there to Joseph Holbruck, had Joseph, b. 27 Sept 1697, and Anne, b. 02 April 1704), and Perseverance (buried 14 Oct 1704 in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, m. John Bayly, had Robert, b. 28 Sept 1690, Thomas, b. 15 Dec 1693, Alice, b. 29 Sept 1696 & d. in August, 1697, John, b. 30 Aug 98, Williiam, b. 03 Dec 1700, and William, b. 17 April 1704). Robert appears to be the son of this name willed large tracts in Maryland by Zachary Wade of Prince Charles Co. in the sping of 1677 (Maryland Wills, Vol. I, p.203). Zachary (Zacharias) is named in will of Dr. John Wade 04 Sept 1658, and was administrator of the estate (op. cit., p. 13). See "British Roots of Maryland Families," Robert W. Barnes (Baltimore, MD: Genealogical Publishing, 1999), p. 443.
