He purchased the tannery from his father in 1779 when his brother Michael left for TN. He was elected county commissioner in 1820 and appointed county treasurer in 1823. He received his father's homestead lot in Reading and in 1817 it was converted into the Farmer's Hotel. Children: Sarah H., Michael, Abigail, William, Catharine H., Peter, John, David, Aaron and Francis.

[49124] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 August 1960, p. 13: "Thomaston, Aug. 10 - Millard Bryan Snowman, 59, of 157 Main Street, Thomaston, died suddenly Wednesday at North Haven. A mechanic for the Socony Vacuum Company, he had just arrived at the Hopkins wharf ramp on North Haven when he collapsed and apparently died immediately. Regional medical examiner Dr. David V. Mann said he died of a heart attack. He was born at Ashland May 16, 1901, the son of William and Georgie (Portney) Snowman. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Earlyne Deeves Snowman; two brothers, Vernon Snowman and Donald Snowman, both of Pittsfield; two sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Snow of Pittsfield and Mrs. Levere Hart of Corinna; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."

Mr. Worthington died Wednesday. He was born July 15, 1913, to Otis R. and Zula B. Viers Worthington in Edgerton, Ohio and was a lifelong Shelby resident. He was employed at Mansfield Plating for 26 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 763. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn E. Worthington, whom he married Jan. 5, 1935; two sons, Dave Worthington of Mansfield and Bill Worthington of Shelby; three grandchildren, Steve Worthington of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Stephanie Fox of Atlanta, Ga., and Paul Worthington of Shelby, two brothers, Harley Worthington of Holiday Lakes and his twin, Rolla Worthington of Shelby; three sisters, Dorothy Roth, Mary Viers and Zootie Ross, all of Shelby; and nieces and nephews."
