[39319] Find A Grave memorial 26333742 offers Orin's obituary: " Orin Linn Hench the subject of the memoir, was the youngest son of the late Zechariah Hench, of Turbett township, and brother of William and John Hench. He was born in Turbett township, April 12, 1845 where he resided all his lifetime. At an early age in his history be commenced to learn the carpenter trade under the instruction of his father, who enjoyed the reputation of being one of the best as well as the most experienced bridge builders in the central part of the State, which occupation the son followed very successfully, having become a skillful mechanic, and teaching public school during the winter months, until about a year previous to his demise, when he turned his attention to the study of medicine and surgery, and attended a course of lectures last winter at the Medical and Surgical Institute in the city of Baltimore, and was making fine progress in his professional studies, looking forward with bright anticipations to the future which was so full of promise to him. Mr. Hench's first wife was Miss Caroline Hench, daughter of the late John Hench, who died of that dread disease consumption, a short time after her marriage. His second wife was Miss Carrie Turbett, daughter of the late Mason Stewart Turbett, and this union was blessed with two dear children, but she fell a victim to pneumonia and died after a brief illness. A few days before his sudden and unexpected death, Mr. Hench led to the altar Miss Ida C. Boyer, daughter of Mr. Geo. Boyer, and having plighted their faith they vowed to live together after God's ordinance in the holy state of matrimony, but alas for human hopes, a day or two thereafter he was stricken down with bilious remittent fever, being called upon to endure intense suffering, and only eleven days elapsed when that happy union was dissolved by the ruthless hand of death, and the bright hopes of the future blasted, a striking and vivid exemplification of the words of the Psalmist, 'In the midst of life we are in death.' Just when he was about ready to enter upon the duties of the profession which had been the great aim and object of his life, for he would have graduated at the college of Physician and Surgeons next spring, he has been removed from this sphere of action in the Providence of God, whose ways are mysterious, and yet, 'He doeth all things well.' Mr Hench was census enumerator for Turbett Township at the taking of the last census. In all the relations of life he was faithful and true. Several years ago he made a profession of faith in Christ and joined the Lutheran Church of Port Royal, and was a consistent member, endeavoring by an upright walk and chaste conversation to adorn the doctrine of Christ."
