[50871] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 23 January 1950, p. 28: "Milbridge, Jan. 22 - Mrs. Lucretia S. Wallace, 85, died at her home here yesterday after an Illness of several months. She was born here Oct. 11, 1864, the daughter of the late Capt. Jason D. and Mary E. (Drisko) Leighton and attended the public schools here. In 1887 she married A. Lincoln Wallace of this town. Mrs. Wallace spent most of her life here and for 12 years was employed at the local post office when her husband was postmaster. She was a charter member of Alcyone chapter No. 71, O.E.S., Pythian Sisters, and the Ladies' Church Aid society. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Vernon K. Brackett, Canton, Mass., Mrs. Chester B. Dorr, East Gardner, Mass. and Mrs. Harry E Freeman Milbridge; a son, Jason D. Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Carrie C. Swanton, all of Milbridge; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews."
