Willard was preceded in death by twin brother, Willis Red Bennett, and his parents. Willard was bom Sept. 9, 1922, In Gratiot, Wis., to Andrew L. and Helga Magneson Bennett. He graduated from New Diggins High School, New Diggins, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippine Islands, Jan. 13, 1943, to Jan. 18, 1946. He worked at Iowa Manufacturing from March 1946 to 1979. He married Nina M. Paullins on Aug. 30, 1947, in Buck Creek, Iowa. She died March 4, 1977, from a motor vehicle accident at age 50. They were members of. Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. He served as president of the International Association of Machinists for approximately 20 years.
