[52187] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 30 December 2019": "Orland - Barbara J. Sargent, Shining Star, 90, passed away peacefully at her residence Dec. 22, 2019, with her family at her side. She was born in Bar Harbor, Aug. 28, 1929, the daughter of Shirley and Elizabeth Reynolds. Barbara married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Sargent, on Sept. 15, 1951, and they enjoyed over 50 years together. She raised five children, ran the family farm and founded Mesa Farm Native American Jewelry and Crafts after her children were grown. Barbara was an amazingly talented musician, playing and singing songs with anyone who wanted to join. Her talents on the harmonica were unrivaled even days before she crossed over. Barbara had a lifelong love of and deep connection to nature. She was the first female Maine Guide and shared her love of all things wild with as many people as she could. She was a wildlife rehabilitator and her doors were open to any creature in need, often in the middle of the night. Barbara also served as a spiritual mentor to many and helped those she loved to connect more deeply with themselves and the Creator. She is survived by daughters, Ann of Orland, Kathleen of Blue Hill, Gloria of Franklin and Shirley of Farmington; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth E. Sargent, and her son, Clarence E. Sargent."
