[45428] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 February 2002, p. 15: "Verona Island - Lloyd G. Leach, 76, passed away peacefully at the Maine Veteran's Home, Bangor, on Feb. 8, 2002. He was born June 11, 1925, on Verona Island, the son of Lloyd and Julia (Delano) Leach. He graduated from Bucksport High School, Class of 1943, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II. Mr. Leach retired from Champion International Paper Co., Bucksport, in 1983, after 36 years of service. He was a member of the U.P.I. U. Local No. 261 Union, and the Felicity Lodge No. 1 9 AF & AM of Bucksport. Lloyd in his early years was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed gardening, his wood lot, claming, and hunting with his boys, shopping with his wife and beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lois (Gross) Leach of Verona Island; two sons, Larry Leach and Jill Damon of Skowhegan, Jerry Leach and his wife, Allison of Bucksport; nine grandchildren, Jacob Leach, Jonathan Leach, Lindsey Leach, Dustin Leach, Kasie Leach, Jessica VanScoy, Nicolas Leach, Katie VanScoy, Kelley Michael Leach; three greatgrandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, and Kyle, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Lenora L. Bennett."

[2152] Ralph followed Duke William, whom his father had served, to England and became an important landowner in the March of Wales after the rebellion of Earl Roger of Hereford, 1075, receiving many of the Hereford lands including the castle and town of Wigmore (thereafter the chief seat of the family).
