[58635] Donald's obituary: "Donald S. Burbank, 76, husband of the late Katheryn (Dodge) Burbank, of Rockport died on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gloucester on Jan. 3, 1933, son of the late Charles (Brud) G. and Ingrid (Walima) Burbank and was a life-long resident of Rockport. Don graduated from Rockport High School, Class of 1950. He furthered his education graduating from Franklin Institute in Boston with a degree in plumbing. He had many jobs over the years, starting in high school working tuna fishing with Bob Enos out of Annisquam. He then worked as a carpenter for Hobbs & Mackay, and Cameron & Hogan. He also spent time building his family homes on South Street and Pleasant Street. Don was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 serving in West Germany as a radio technician in the 3rd Armored Division. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Shortly thereafter he went to work for the New England Telephone Company retiring after 30 years of service. He worked in various locations in New England installing what was then a new telephone system. One location being Ellsworth, Maine, where he met his wife to be Katheryn Dodge. They were married on April 30, 1956 in Seabrook, N.H. Through the later years Don worked in Boston as the New England Telephone Co. project manager for satellite computer centers built around New England. Don served on the Rockport School Committee and was involved with youth hockey having designed and helped build the hockey rink that was erected at the rear of Evans Field (where the Youth Center is now located). He also helped fill and deliver Christmas baskets to the elderly and shut-ins on Christmas morning. He had varied interests throughout his life but his passion was boating and tuna fishing. He owned two boats, the Kay Bur and the Kay Bur II, which he and Kay spent every weekend and vacation on. His most memorable accomplishment was when he harpooned an 835-pound tuna near Straits mouth Island. Don always said of Rockport that there wasn't any better place to harbor a boat and get out to the open ocean to go tuna fishing. He is survived by his children Deborah Luce wife of John of Carmel, Maine, Dawna Genovese wife of Mark of North Cape May, N.J, and Michael Burbank of Rockport, his grandchildren, Andrew Alley of Carmel, Maine, Amber Kay Alley and her fiance Paul Daniels of Cranston, R.I, Matthew and Jessica Genovese of North Cape May, N.J, Michael Burbank Jr. of Gloucester, and Gracie Burbank of Rockport, great-grandchildren, Megan and Cameron Alley of Cannel, Maine. Also surviving him are his brother Robert Burbank and his wife Sandra of Rockport and his two special nieces and their families, Cheryl Aldrich of Wilmington, and Karen Frey of Windham, N.H. He was predeceased by his parents, wife and his grandson Donald A. Alley."

The 1880 census lists Grant, age 16, in the family of his father, Joshua (age 55, b. in PA), and Grant's siblings (Carolina, Joshua and Leander) on the farm at Hickory Point, Macon Co., IL. "The Decatur Daily Review, 6 November 1936," p. 33: "Funeral services for Grant Disney, 72, who died Wednesday in his home at 1421 North Fiftieth place, Milwaukee, Wis., will be conducted at 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the Moran &Sons' funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs cemetery. He was born near Forsyth May 1, 1864 and farmed near Decatur until 25 years ago when he moved to Sturgis, Wis. He was married in Decatur April 14, 1889 to Miss Agnes Weikel. He moved to Milwaukee a short time ago and his death followed a four months' illness. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Mrs. Verna Rotz, Hutchinson, Kan.; Mrs. Hazel Farmer, Beloit, Wis.; Mrs. Zeila Walters, Sturgis, Mich.; Guy Disney and Mrs. Erma Vollmer, both of Chicago; Mrs. Gladys Bessart, Wausau, Wis.; Mrs. Lolla Knaebe and Kenneth Disney, both of Milwaukee. "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 9 April 2020": "Vernon Leroy Sprague, 90, of Machiasport, passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of the Lord on March 26, 2020, with his family by his side at the Veterans Home in Bangor. Vern was born in Machias on Sept. 2, 1929, to Arnold James Sprague and Ruth Kenney Sprague. His parents encouraged him to stay in school, resulting in Vern being the only boy and, as he liked to joke, the smartest boy, in his eighth grade class. In high school, Vern played basketball for the Machias Bulldogs while his future wife, Lois Ingalls, was a cheerleader for the rival Washington Academy Raiders.
Vern enjoyed working to provide for himself and his family starting with his job delivering newspapers at age 9 and later working for Leonard Clark in his general store near home. He also continued doing delivery and truck-driving work in his youth. In 1951, Vern enlisted into the Air Force and, in 1952, was deployed with the 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing to Kimpo AFB, Korea, during the Korean War, refueling jet aircraft on the flightline. Just prior to leaving for Korea, Vernon married his lifelong sweetheart, Lois Marilyn Ingalls of Bucks Harbor. This last January, they celebrated their 68th anniversary. Together they raised a daughter and three sons. After his Air Force service, Vern worked as a truck driver for D.W. Small & Sons in Machias delivering heating oil and petroleum between Bangor and Machias. His son David remembers riding with his father on a few of those trips and stopping for lunch at Fox Pond on the Blacks Woods Road. When the bookkeeper left suddenly, Vern took over that job and with the help of a correspondence course, and later with help from Beth Hatt, taught himself bookkeeping, accounting and finance. When D. W. Small & Sons was acquired by Irving Oil Corp. in 1986, Vern took on the job of financial controller and later became VP of finance for the U.S. operation. Verns daughter Janet followed her fathers footsteps to work in accounting and worked with her father at D. W. Small & Sons and Irving Oil until Verns retirement in 2002. As a young married couple, Vern and Lois both received Jesus Christ as their Savior, and have been longtime and devoted members of the Machias Valley Baptist Church. Vern taught teens and adult Sunday school and loved studying and teaching the Bible. The congregation always knew to hold a spot for Vern and Lois in the back pew for the Sunday morning service, where Verns brother-in-law George Henderson preached and Verns brother John led the singing. In later years, Vern and Lois would help in the nursery, entertaining the children during the Sunday service. Verns pastimes and hobbies included hunting, fishing and Little League games with his sons Douglas and Paul, treasure hunting with his metal detector, taking his family on camping trips, magic tricks, woodworking, motorcycle riding with Mom, gardening, lobster fishing, jigsaw puzzles and meetings with and maintaining the newsletter for his Air Force Reunion Group. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lois Ingalls Sprague. The unverified Watters Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2017 offers: "Johannes Jurian Westfall was born in 1660 in Kingston, New York. He had [at least] one daughter with Maritje Kool in 1691. He died in 1725 in his hometown at the age of 65. Maritje Kool was born on March 7, 1666, in Kingston, New York. . . . . She died in 1728 in Minisink, New York, at the age of 62.

Find A Grave memorial 67449027 offers: "Johannes was the third child born to Juriaen Westfall and Marretje Hansen. He was born at a Dutch settlement along Esopus Creek that was chartered by the Dutch as the city of Wiltwyck in 1661. There is no Kingston Dutch Church record of his christening as it was not started until 1661. The British took over Dutch lands in 1664 and Wiltwyck renamed Kingston, New York in 1669. Johannes was age eight when his father died in 1667 and he was raised by his fathers close friend Thomas Chambers, at his Kingston estate "Ye Manor of Fox Hall". This manor was granted by the British to Thomas in gratitude for his help. Johannes wed Marretje, daughter of Jacob Barentsen Cole (Kool) and Marretje Symons Floriszen at the Kingston Dutch Reformed Church on January 28, 1683. They lived in Kingston and had:

In 1696, Johannes and sister Rymerick Quick plus brothers Nicholas(Charles) and Simon were part of a group of twenty-two people who bought a large parcel of Indian land. This land is along present route 209 (The Old Mine Road) from Westbrookville to Port Jervis, New York area. In about 1697, Johannes moved his family to Rochester Township, around present Accord, New York and had:

Church functions were provided by a circuit rider from the Kingston Dutch Church. Johannes later moved his family to Mackackemack (Port Jervis, N.Y.) The Kingston church put a resident missionary there in about 1715 and built a church in 1743. It was located next to the present Mackackemack Cemetery. Johannes died in Machackemack and his grave site is believed to be Machackemack Cemetery.
