"The Perry County Democrat [New Bloomfield, Pennsylania], 15 May 1929," p. 3: "Charles Nevin McKeehan, a lifelong resident of Centre township, slept peacefully away on Friday at 4 a. m., at his home, near this place, following an illness of several years, superinduced by heart trouble. For two weeks he had been confined to his bed, gradually growing weaker until the end came. Mr. McKeehan was a son of the late John and Margaret Ann (Lupfer) McKeehan and was born at the old McKeehan homestead, May 23, 1855, and died May 10, 1929, aged 73 years, 11 months and 17 days. He acquired his education in the common schools and the Bloomfield Academy and was engaged in farming as long as he was able. He was Mercantile Appraiser of Perry county two terms. He was united in marriage November, 1880, to Ellen S. Eby, daughter of Jacob and Magdalean (Briner) Eby, of Blain, who survives with four children: Mrs. Grace Greaney and Misses Mabel and Mary McKeehan, of this place, and Mr. Paul McKeehan, of Blain. Six grandchildren also survive, as well as an invalid sister, Mrs. Harry G. Swartz, of this place. Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. At the age of sixteen years, he united with Trinity Reformed Church, of this place, under the late Rev. James Crawford, then pastor. On account of the illness of Rev. J. Thomas Fox, funeral services were conducted by Rev. Donald Rhoads, of the Lutheran Church, from the late home on Monday morning, at 10.30 o'clock. The pall-bearers were Harry E. Clouser, Warren K. Clouser, Joe G. Darlington, George M. Clouser, John H. Sheaffer and Harry Shellehamer. . . . Mr. McKeehan owned several fine farms, besides a vast scope of timber-land, being perhaps the greatest individual landowner in Perry county. He was industrious and well-to-do, being possessed of boundless energy, and was a great believer in the efficacy of hard work, but busy as he always was he took time to read and kept himself posted on the events of the day and being a man of intelligence and keen insight he was well-informed. In political faith he was an independent Republican, unbossed and unbiased by political partisanship. Honest and straightforward in all his conduct and opinions there was never any misunderstanding as to where he stood on public questions, and in all his dealings he was fair and honorable. In every sense of the word he was a good and useful member of the community and his death is greatly deplored. Friends and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral of Chas. N. McKeehan were Mrs. Belle Whitcomb, John McKeehan, Charles Spahr, Mr, and Mrs. Charles Hoke and daughter, Marion, of Harrisburg; Chas. S. Briner, of Detroit, Mich.; J. Russell Smith, of Muncy; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Miller, of Rutherford Heights; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Darlington, of Lewistown; Mrs. Frank Minich, Mrs. Will Horting, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Clay, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. McKeehan, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gantt, John M. Gantt, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Rice, Mr. and Mrs. George Arnold and family, Mrs. Carrie Jeffers, and Mrs. George Myers, of Newport; Mrs. Chester Steele, Judge J. R. Bartruff, Miss Jean Duncan, and Joseph Hochlander, of Duncannon; Mr. and Mrs. William Minich, Anna Briner, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Briner, Mr. and Mrs. Foster Seager, Dorman Hockenberry, Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. McKeehan and family, of Blain; Miss Mary R. Briner, Mr. George Briner and Mrs. Frank Briner, of Carlisle."
"The Perry County Democrat [New Bloomfield, PA], 22 December 1926," p. 3: "Two weeks ago while Charles N. McKeehan, of near town, was riding the saddle-horse hitched to a farm wagon in one of the fields on his farm, the horse stopped into a ground-hog hole and fell, and Mr. McKeehan was pinned under the horse, the whole weight of the animal being on his chest and left leg, and in the struggles of the horse to get up Mr. McKeehan thought the life would be crushed out of him. He was alone at the time, but called for help and finally after being under the horse about seven minute his hired man heard him and came to his assisrance. Hisleg was badly bruised and swollen and his chest gave him great pain, laying him up for a week, but he is now able to be about again."

[38737] Ruth's obituary in http://www.cremationfuneralcare.com: "Ruth L. Nolin passed away peacefully at Donnell House in Washington, PA., on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the age of 88. She was born in Egypt on April 25, 1926, to missionary parents, William W. Nolin and Ruth H. Nolin. She had four siblings, Roger (died in infancy), Kenneth Nolin, Wallace Nolin (died in 2012) and Nancy Mast, and a half brother, William Hughes. Her education included Schutz American School in Alexandria, Egypt, Vashon High School, Vashon, WA, and Muskingum College in New Concord, OH, where she earned a B.S. in 1948. She was trained as a medical technologist in Akron, OH, where she worked for three years in the Akron City Hospital. She returned to Tanta Hospital in Tanta, Egypt, to manage the laboratory and later the radiology department. Her work there was for 15 years, and was cut short by the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, when all U.S. citizens left Egypt. Her final employment for 21 years was at The Washington Hospital as supervisor of the hematology department. Retirement years provided opportunities for travel and enjoyment of many crafts and activities, including quilting and doll making. Her final year was spent at Southminster Place of Presbyterian Senior Care. She enjoyed nieces and nephews who shared much with her. The prevailing force throughout her life was music. She sang in choirs for many years, most recently at First Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA, where she was a member. Music fed her soul."
