Jake is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jackie Leighton; a daughter, Jeanne Leighton of Eddington; grandchildren Amy Taylor and husband, Roger, James Leighton and wife, Jessica, and Richard Leighton, all of Milbridge; daughter-in-law, Marie Leighton of Milbridge; greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Joseph, Isaac, Madison, Michael and James, Jr.; siblings, Charlotte Shai of Massachusetts, Carroll Leighton and wife, Betty, of Glenburn, and Myron Leighton and wife, Betty, of Cherryfield; many nieces and nephews and several special friends. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Leighton; three sisters and six brothers."
