[44526] Alice m. 2nd 16 Jun 1919 Sanford A. Goodwin (1889-1946). She is daughter of Henry White Gott and Emma E. Blodgett. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 24 January 1976, p. 18: "Brooksville and Skowhegan - Mrs. Alice Goodwin, 96, widow of Sanford Goodwin, died Jan. 22 at a nursing home in Ellsworth after a long illness. She was born in Brooksville May 30, 1879, daughter of Henry and Emma (Blodgett) Gott. She is survived by two sons, Belford Perkins of Schenectady, N.Y., and Percy Perkins of Brooksville; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one nephew, Alfred Perkins of Brooksville."
[903] She is identified as Bridget Harris by Patty Rose in her genealogy on the Web at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pattyrose/engel where her children and parents are also given. She cites Joseph B. Felt. "History of Ipswich, Essex, and Hamilton." Ipswich:1966 (first published in Cambridge:1834) as source for the death date of Bridget, 16 Nov 1655 in Ipswich. She gives the marriage date and place for Bridget and Humphrey and states that she is daughter of John Harris and Bridget _____. I have not verified her information. Ancestry.com offers: "Harris Name Meaning - English and Welsh (very common in southern England and South Wales): patronymic from the medieval English personal name Harry, pet form of Henry. This name is also well established in Ireland, taken there principally during the Plantation of Ulster. In some cases, particularly in families coming from County Mayo, both Harris and Harrison can be Anglicized forms of Gaelic Ó hEarchadha."

[59146] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 19 Apil 2025: "Machias, Maine - Patricia Leola Carver, 89, a beloved member of the Addison community, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 7, 2025, at the Maine Veterans Home in Machias. Born on July 15, 1935, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence Leighton. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, George Carver Jr.; and her sisters, Barbara Crowley and Lola Knight. She is survived by her devoted brother, Harry Leighton of Pittston; and sister, Gertrude Nickerson of Hancock. Pat is missed by children, Donna (Steve) of Yorktown, VA, Julie (Kevin) of Windsor, Lisa (Donald) of Vassalboro, George (Deborah) of Old Town, Laurie (Lendell) of Standish, Dean (Melissa) of Sidney, and Michele of Addison. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Eric (Brooke) Joy, Danielle, Ashley (Caleb) Jones, Haley (James) Fowler, Bradley, Kinsey, and Madison; and her great-grandchildren, Brielle and Rowan Joy. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Pat took great pride in her service - especially in the fact that she outranked her husband. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years and was known for her warm heart, strong spirit, and infectious laughter. Pat brought joy to many through the simple pleasures she loved - playing bingo, bowling, ice skating, dancing, and card games like Yahtzee and Skip-Bo. She never turned down a good country-western concert with her sisters or a sweet treat to satisfy her legendary sweet tooth. Her loyal pets, Duchess and Berlin, held a special place in her heart, as did the movies she enjoyed watching. Many will remember Pat from Joanne's Dairy Bar, where she served ice cream with a smile, or from the various local businesses where she worked over the years, including Brown's Market, Columbia C&M, Elmer's and the Four Corners Shop N Save. In every role, she was known for her kindness, her work ethic, and her friendly, familiar face. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Maine Veterans Home for their dedicated care and support over the past two years, and to Beacon Hospice Care for their compassion and comfort during Pat's final days. Patricia Carver was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Graveside services will be held at Church Hill Cemetery in Addison on August 2, 2025."
