"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 14 August 2023: "Weston - Joyce K. Brackett, 93, died on August 12, 2023, in Houlton. She was born January 30, 1930, in Danforth, the daughter of Daniel and Nellie (Murray) MacDonald.
She graduated from Danforth High School in 1947. She was an alum of the East Grand Alumni Association, a member of the Danforth Methodist Church, a trustee of the Weston Community Church, worked in municipal government for approximately 17 years, serving as the administrative assistant for the Town of Weston and as the Danforth Town Manager. She is survived by her son, Varney 'Hal' Brackett and his wife, Sharon, of Weston, and her daughter, Ardis Louise and her husband, Cary Brown, of Weston, both of whom she was very proud of; two beloved grandchildren, Amanda Linscott of Hodgdon, and Tracey Treadwell and her husband, Jake, and their daughter, Mackenzie, of Sandy, Utah; a sister, Freda Thornton, of Medway, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Varney; and two sisters, Avis Worster and Ruth Stinson."
[59224] Glenn's obituary: "Glenburn - Glenn 'Chet' McGraw, 64, died Dec. 18, 2008, at his home, after a short illness. He was born March 4, 1944, in Patten, the son of Glenn T. and Reubena (Chase) McGraw. Chet graduated from Patten Academy in 1963. He was in the Maine Army National Guard, Battery B 1 152 Field Artillery. He was a selectman of Dyer Brook, where he was also a member of the planning and budget committee. Chet was an avid sportsman who especially loved to fly-fish, build fly and spinning rods, and tie flies. He loved taking pictures of sunsets and designed many beautiful pieces of furniture. He retired from Central Maine Transport in 2007. He also worked for Sherman Lumber Co., American Gear, Peabody Equipment, Louisiana Pacific and Sherman Chevrolet. Chet is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Betty (Morrison) McGraw of Glenburn; his children, Holly and her husband, Chuck Hogan, of Glenburn, Kirby McGraw of Glenburn and his friend, Noel Scott, of Monmouth; his sister, Sheila and her husband, Rodney Nelson, of Travelers Rest, S.C.; his brother, Kirby T. Locke of LaPorte, Ind.; a favorite aunt, Pauline Farmer of Sherman Station; two very adorable granddaughters, Abigail and Lauren Hogan of Glenburn, with whom he loved spending time; several nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Durr and Judy Cameron of Dyer Brook; brother-in-law, Melvin and his wife, Karen Morrison, of Dyer Brook; life-long friend, Don Adams of Patten; and his trusting pets, Lily, Scooby and Tu. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Sonny Cameron; nephew, Glenn Patterson; close friend, Ted Friel; and his fishing buddy, Raymond Prescott."

He also served in the Korean War in the Air Force. Following his service duty, he was employed at St. Regis Paper Company in Bucksport. He then worked for Brake Service and for many years was a parts man for A.J. Cole. In addition to his wife, Joan (Smith) Potter, he is survived by two sons, Lloyd Scripture and wife, Joyce, of Hermon, Larry Scripture and wife, Darlene of Hermon; two daughters, Wanda Potter and companion, Leo Coombs, Donna Carleton and companion, Sean Soucie, of Levant; three brothers, Jim Potter and wife, Ruth, of New York, William Potter and companion, Kathy, of Bucksport, Ronald Potter and wife, Sandra, of Orland; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Powers. Interment will be in the New Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Augusta." A memorial stone is also placed in Waugh Cemetery, Levant, Penobscot Co., ME.
