He was born June 12, 1897 in Sullivan, the son of William B. and Bertha (Havey) Blaisdell. A graduate of Sullivan High School, the University of Maine and Harvard Law School, he was a former Hancock County Attorney and a Veteran of World War I. He was a charter member and past King Lion of the Ellsworth Lions Club, a member of David Hooper Lodge, No. 201, Acadia Chapter, No. 31, Blanquefort Commandery, No. 13, Irene Chapter, Eastern Star, and Anah Temple Shrine. He was a member of Maine State and Hancock County Bar Associations and practiced law in Ellsworth for 50 years. He was a former member of the board of directors of the Liberty National Bank in Ellsworth and served as vice president for many years. Mr. Blaisdell is survived by his wife, Marian (Page) Blaisdell; three children, Kenneth W. Blaisdell, Ruth (Blaisdell) Silsby, and Glenice (Blaisdell) Carpenter; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Dr. Carl E. Blaisdell of Bangor and Dr. William B. Blaisdell of Hilton Head Island, S. C.; one uncle, Alvah Blaisdell of Bangor; several nieces and nephews,"

[22478] The unverified information at www.vandeleurcreagh.org in 2007 states that Sir John is Lord of Pateshull and Bletsoe, b. ca. 1291 in Pattishall, Towcester, Northamptonshire, d. by Aug 1349 in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, and that he "was bound for service in Wales with the Earl of Hereford in February 1315/16, and was summoned that same month as well as in later years for service against the Scots. He is recorded as a participant in the Battle of Boroughbridge on March 16, 1321/22 and was summoned as a Knight of Beds [i.e. Bedfordshire] to attend the Great Council at Westminster in May of 1324. A knight, we was summoned to Parliament as a baron February 25, 1341/42; Lord of Pattishall and Bletsoe, Bedfordshire."
