[51183] Mary's obituary: "Bucksport - Mary S. Robshaw, 93 died peacefully Friday April 10, 2015 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 4, 1921 in Deer Isle the daughter of Mace and Ada Eaton. Mary had a great love of family as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting afghans, playing cribbage. She worked for many years at Castine Hospital and catered many private events. She finished her career working at Fort Knox Park Inn as a manager. She is survived by three daughters; Patricia Wardwell of Penobscot, Donna and Larry Green of Bucksport and Florida, Sally Howard of Bucksport, one daughter in law Julia Bowden of Castine, grandchildren; Robin Vogell, Lisa and Ron Haas, Anne and Tim Darling, Rob and Linda Howard, Dana and Simone Howard, Christopher Howard and his significant other Kristy Lucas, Andrew and Wendy Bowden, Greg and Jill Bowden, Angela and Skip Cushman, Tim and Stephanie Bowden, 20 Great-Grandchildren, Six Great Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Vaughn Robshaw, one son Edgar Bowden, one grandson Randy Wardwell, two brothers and four sisters."

Page 9 -- In 1796, Andrew Steinhoff, grandfather of Lyman Pettit, petitioned the government for land in the Long Point settlement. He was given a magistrate's certificate for 200 acres but was restricted from settling at Long Point or York. York had been founded 3 years earlier in 1793, the same year slavery was abolished in Canada, and was renamed Toronto in 1834. Two daughters beyond the children given here are found in "The Malcolm Family," by John Karl Malcolm, Emily Steinhoff (b. about 1819) and Elsie Steinhoff (b. about 1821), but nothing further is known about them. Shaw via email (georshaw@enoreo.on.ca) 11/98: John Steinhoff, father of Andrew, was b. in New Jersey and died 11 Sept 1811 and had a farm ca. 1785 in Crowland Twp. (Welland, Ontario) of 200 acres, and lots 17-18, 272 acres, in the front concession of Stamford Twp. in 1798. He wife was Hannah _____. There is a reference to a John Steinhoff in the New Jersey Society Journal, Vol. 40, p. 137, showing taxes in Newton Twp., Sussex Co. in 1774 in his name for 10 acres, 2 catttle and in Charlottesville Twp. for 750 acres.
