[36614] This person is from the unverified Melanie Renee Crawford tree in Ancestry.com in 2014. The Daily Times [Davenport, IA], 29 August 1918, p. 14: WASHINGTON, la., Aug. 29. (Special) C. A. McWilliams formerly of this city died suddenly at the home of his son Verne R. McWilliams of Columbus Junction last Tuesday evening at 6:45 o'clock. He had done a very hard days work and while preparing for his supper, was seized with an acute attack and died. For a number of years, Mr McWilliams had been a resident of Washington, working for the George Steward Hardware Co. as a tinner and later with the Western Hog Oiler Co. He had recently moved to Columbus Junction and his wife was here at the time of his death. The deceased was well known and generally liked. The survivors are the widow and four sons, Harold of Farmington, Verne and Charles of Columbus Junction and Dr. Edgar of Camp Pike, Ark. Mr McWilliams has been a sufferer with rheumatism and it is believed that the striking of a vital spot by the ailment caused death.
