As we bow in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, we recognize the solemn truth, 'In the midst of life we are in death.' In looking back over his Christian career, estending over a period of more than half a century, we find great reason for thankfulness that he was permitted to live and labor so logn and successfully for the cause of our Lord and Master. We bear unqualified testimony to the earnest and cheerful faithfulness with which he fulfilled his duty to the church and the world as a memeber of the countil of this church." He was a Lutheran Elder for 25 years.
