[30129] http://www.ringleib.com/ringleib_info/family_tree/colinr/d896.htm (not verified) offers: "William Drake was first mentioned (in relation to his parents) in a surrender made by his father Edmund on his death-bed, of the lands called Eldefeldes and Grangerys to the use of his wife Joan and after her death to William Drake, their son. At the Court held on February 14, 1482, William petitioned to be admitted to these lands. Since at the time of Edmund's death, it was reported at Court "...and none came to claim his lands," William's brother, Thomas, the eldest son and heir, must have been living outside the manor. On August 1, 1469, it was recorded that one William Somerset had died, having surrendered his tenement and croft called "Goldstones" to William Drake, the latter paing 3 marks 16s. 8d. to Margaret Somerset, the widow. He was presented at Court on May 22, 1483, for not doing his office as ale taster and fined the usual 2d. He died before the Court held on December 19, 1510, when his lands were seized since no one came to claim them. The name of his wife, whom he must have married before 1645, is not known but they had two children: Thomas and Joan." Her second husband's obituary: ""News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 26 November 1917," p. 3: "Joseph M. Hunter, well known Richland county farmer and former representative in the state legislature, died Saturday afternoon at his home in Shiloh after a brief illness. While he had been in failing health for several years past, his condition was never considered serious and his death was entirely unexpected. Born In Bloominggrove township, April 29, 1844, he lived in this county all his life. He was the son of James and Mary Hunter, and wan the last surviving member of a family of six children. Mr. Hunter's boyhood was spent on the farm and he learned the agricultural pursuits which he followed until he retired from the farm and located in Shiloh. For seven years, after being appointed to the position in 1883, he held the office of superintendent of the Richland county infirmary. He returned to Bloominggrove township and engaged in farming until in 1897, he entered politics and was twice elected as representative from Richland county to the seventy-third and seventy-fourth general assemblies. In later years, he was mayor of Shiloh and also a justice of the peace. Mr. Hunter was twice married, his second wife, Mrs. Alverda Chew, who he married in 1894, surviving him. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Melvin D. Ropp, of this city, and Mrs. G. W. Snyder, of Shelby and three sons, Claude M., of this city, Garland of Columbus and Thurman, of Omaha, Neb. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from his late home in Shiloh. Interment will be in the Shenandoah cemetery."
